Probably after November 28th, when they are scheduled to be unveiled.
Personally, I'm loving the look, nameplate and all. Many teams (coughBUFFALOcough) only go halfway when they have a retro look, adding numbers, piping, wearing pants and helmets that clash, etc., but by having the retro nameplate, the Flyers really are going all the way with this, at least in terms of the jersey (the helmet-less look probably wouldn't fly today). I'm dying for the return of the orange without a weird 3d logo and silver stripes, and this fits the bill perfectly.
On my wish list already. Thinking of a Richards captain; I've always wanted a jersey with his name and number on it since 05-06; even then, I think we could all see the Bobby Clarke in him, and the new jerseys with the captain C only seals the deal.
I'm confused by this. First of all, why unveil a third jersey in what may be the last year for this identity? Secondly, that vertical piping doesn't look like it would work all that well. Thirdly, I'm not liking the purple overload. It's the same problem Minnesota had with their green jerseys; the shoulders should be white to break it up. Lastly, what's with the shoulder patches? I can understand one, but two? As if anyone is going to forget who their NHL affiliate is if they can only see one shoulder. Personally, I think they should've replaced one of them with their spectrum patch, or maybe even a new one to commemorate its last season.
Other than that, can't be worse than what they currently have. *shudder*
maybe we should start spray painting "hair" onto the helmets
i think the phantoms jersey looks a tad busy. simplicity is usually a virtue in these things. not a fan of the orange "suspenders."
