He really didn't say much. We know why he says he returned, etc. Frankly, we could care less. He is dead to the majority of this fanbase.

I doubt he said all that, anyway. Anyone that's heard how Rad talks knows that he's not capable of such high-level thought.

Agreed. I doubt that any of the words attributed to him were actually spoken by him. I'm guessing the media department of the KHL just drafted a nice little report to issue to the media to squelch any more comments about Rads leaving. Don't want to harm the legitimacy of the league any further.

Good timing with this. I'm sure all the KHL players are just enjoying their stay in Russia. I mean, after all, who wouldn't want to play in the KHL, where the on-hand medical personnel rivals that of your average U.S. middle school football game?

That was pretty much my exact thought as well. I'm not saying he's totally incapable of such thinking, but in his 2 years in Nashville, probably the most intelligent thing he ever said was that he "didn't touch the potato." So I have to wonder when he would have ever said anything as remotely intelligent as this:

Quote:
I returned to Russia not so that I could return again to the NHL but rather to offer all of my efforts and professionalism to the betterment of Russian hockey taking it to a new level

Middle school games have AEDs on hand

That's a defibrillator, right? Is it a stretch to say that pickup basketball games at the Downtown Y have better medical emergency response than KHL games. I'm very curious how the KHL will try to spin this. If that league is last class when it comes to player safety, what else are they skimping on? Do they only have six jerseys that players must exchange after each shift? Now we found out the real reason why they pay their players so handsomely.

yes, it's the automatic one that basically does everything for you so you don't have to have much training to use it. I believe predperson knows something more about them.

And yes the local Ys do have them, we have them at the fitness center at Dell Computers.

And it's just as everyone thought, he didn't really say that.

Radulov talks about NHL return

Quote:
"I didn't say that — that letter was a misunderstanding,'' Radulov said. "I wrote a letter about if it goes to court, I think it should be in Russia because I am in Russia and the team is in Russia. But I never said I don't want to go back to the NHL or something like that.''

Obviously Radulov is a risky asset atm and frankly I think it severely damaged his trade value.

Would you have any interest in something like:

Prucha, Fritsche, conditional second round pick (you get the pick if he returns to the NHL) for Radulov's rights?

Or are you guys more in the state of mind of just letting him rot in Russia?

I work at the Green Hills YMCA and yes we have one behind the front desk and all full time staff are trained on how to use it effectively.

Is he worth stashing? I have Vokoun, Legace, Raycroft and Niittymaki in a points pool (start 2 daily). I'd like to keep all 4 until it's clear which one of Raycroft/Niitty has more value. When Legace comes off the IR (Saturday?) I have to drop someone. Is Radulov still worth stashing over a 4th G?

I see no value in having Radulov on your team.

Rangers fan, so this may be posted elsewhere, but I thought you'd find it interesting...

Maybe not getting paid will prompt Radulov to come back sooner rather than later?

Quote:
Clubs in the Russian league, commonly known by its Russian initials, KHL, have missed payroll and there's uncertainty about its smaller franchises. Worries are also mounting about the possible impact of the world economic crisis on its well-moneyed backers, many of them who rely on high world oil prices for their wealth.

Ufa, according to Soviet journalists, is one of the clubs behind in paying its players. The league is telling players that their contracts will eventually be honoured

Isn't this what Richards & LeCavalier were talking about during the lockout ?

Wow, so if Radulov does come back would anyone take him off Nashville's hands?

What will happen is that Radulov will come back early next year because he won't be paid in Russia. We'll offer him a multi-year contract but, because the economy is getting so bad, it will be lower than what he would have gotten if he had stayed and the team negotiated with him before the collapse of the financial markets.
