There is not a single REAL Rangers fan who wants to see the Islanders leave.
We love dominating the crowd in your building and all, but the rivalry is something incredible. It would be such a shame to lose that.
Just a shame.
If you are a true fan like your self and as you stated you would not want the Isles to leave.
Now on to the second part...dominating the building not always true. and since majority of the seats at MSG are corporate you have to go to other buildings to see your team play. Going to the Rock and NVMC is really the only time majority of your fans can see their team play without having to wear a suit at a game.
I figured with Merril going down there would be more seats for some fans instead of the blue seats almost outside MSG guess not.
last i heard is that when they built the mts center in winnipeg they set it up so they could expand and add on another upper bowl adding probably close to 5 thousand seats, not sure how this is posible but this is what was said during construction
I doubt we'll ever see a team that has won a Cup in the past ever lose their franchise.
It's happened before, around the Great Depression. The original Ottawa Senators are probably the best-known example. The Montreal Maroons were the most recent, although in this case "recent" == "seventy years ago".
Granted, this isn't a Great Depression, but it's not as though it's impossible.
Remember - when you're a hockey fan, it's not "reckless driving", it's "good forechecking".

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
