And how are you going to fit Koivu, Kovalev or Tanguay, Komisarek, Plekanec, Higgins, Price next contract under the cap if you gave Streit a 4mil$ contract for 4 to 5 years in the future???

Why bother about the cap NOW. This team has high expectations THIS year.
After having seen Kovalev play, would you sign him again ?

Kovalev.. Maybe if we have $1M of cap space left we could sign him.

I said Kovalev or Tanguay, we won't have the cap space to sign both. So we lose Tanguay or Komisarek because we signed Streit? Thats not smart management.
I was one of the few who believed in Streit since day one, one of his biggest fan but it made no sense at 4mil$ and it's not a bit of struggle after 15 games that will change that IMO.

This guy wanted to stay in Montreal. The other players liked him. Carbo nor Gainey did not want to give him a full-time job on D. that is the main reason why he left. Don't you think he would not look better than O'byrne and Brisebois ? + His PP skills.
A 3 year- 10-11 million would had been sufficient to sign him then.
But, of course, we have O'byrne, Brisebois, Valentenko()....
Laraque really needs to fight and stand up for our players tonight like he did last night. Tanguay & Koivu need to keep doing what there doing, defence needs to shape up, Kovy needs someone to smack him across the head and ****ing score!
Latendresse- Koivu - Tanguay should never have been split to begin with. They're doing too good together.
How should it have never been split, when the last few games showed that the chemistry is between Tanguay and Koivu and not with anyone else. That line was still producing at the same rate without Latendresse, and not only did Koivu and Tanguay score while he was off it, but so did Higgins.
I think Latendresse should be playing with Plekanec and Kovalev because he plays a much simpler dump and chase game and actually puts the puck behind defenders which Kovalev and Plekanec almost refuse to do which is probably the biggest factor as to why the line isn't working.
Lang, Sergei and Andrei. After the move last night was made, it's clear that Andrei has lost all confidence; however, it was nice to see people actually pass him the puck, although he lost quite often, he still made some plays that I have not yet seen him do this season. He first shot of the game came while playing on this line because he actually had possession of the puck while on this line.
In an ideal world, with a coach who has brains I would like the lines to look like this...
Higgins Plekanec Kovalev
Tanguay Koivu Andrei(Both player original wings)
Lats Lang Sergei(They were not bad as a line, they seem to have developed chemistry in the ottawa and boston games and they had carried it over to last night.
But since we know Carbo will never do the above, I'd like to see
Latendresse Plekanec Kovalev
Higgins Koivu Tanguay
Andrei Lang Sergei

Except it's been said many times in the Media that Gainey could of signed him around the All-Star break for $2.3M!!! But he chose not to, that's BAD management.
I love Gainey and all, but he missed the boat on this one.. badly.
Why the flying **** did Carbo tell our team to concentrate on D so much....now we're not scoring. I don't know about you guys, but I don't think our team has a D-first kinda build to it.
Lets score 7 goals.......hell, make it 10.......Im pissed
