Those should be the lines. Plek/Kovy, Koivu/Tangs, Andrei/Sergei are all great duos. Latendresse finishes well, Higgins can get the puck for them, and Lang can just hang around and shoot if he needs to, just take the damn face off and give them the puck. Maybe Id contemplate switching Obyrne and Gorges though.

When the Canadiens play the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow night in Raleigh, coach Guy Carbonneau says he'll use the same lines he used against St. Louis Sunday.

I don't see Koivu-Kovalev lasting very long, they do well in spurts, but it's just not a good combo. And Tanguay will quickly realize like A Kost did how frustrating it is when the puck is always on the other side of the ice.

However I really think the Lang with Kostitsyns line has potential. The brothers skill and chemistry is obvious, and Lang is a big body who can shield the puck, but is not as stubborn as Kovalev in that he knows when to give it up and has the skill to make plays and score goals.

Latendresse-Koivu-Tanguay
Higgins-Plekanec-Kovalev
Kostitsyn-Lang-Kostitsyn
Kostopoulos-Lapierre-Laraque

See no problems here. I'd give it a chance for a while.

Funny but doesn't everyone wants to see Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev at the All Star game?

Ya but you don't mind the bunch of posters on here that feed off each other distaste for Kovalev, they don't speak for the thousands upon thousands of habs fans out there.

Everyone's got their two cents on the line up, here is mine for at least a try;

Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev
Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Higgins - Lang - Latendresse
Kosto - Lapierre - Laraque/Begin

Top line is a load of skill that may not work. Lots of passers, but they are all so talented it may work

Second line is speed, passing, shooting, I love the idea of the speedy Kosty bros with a super fast set up man like Tomas. They could do it all if they click.

Third line are all big boys, not going to be bullied around down low. Lats is a solid hitter to clear up space, Higgins is tireless and can score, Lang can hold the puck well and dish it just as well as most.

Fourth line is obvious, Begin in against a team where we want sandpaper, lots of hitting and speed and energy. Laraque if we need a policeman to try and keep people in line.

These would be my lines:

Tanguay-Koivu-Lats
Higgins-Plekanec-Kovalev
A.Kost-Lang-S.Kost
Kostopulous-Lapierre-Laraque

ALso I would call up Carle or Webber to take Bouillon or O'Byrne spot and play the point on the P.P.

It's gonna happen probably for a couple games. I'd rather see Lats on Pleks line but oh well, it's not like he's earned it.

It baffles me why Carbo won’t try AKost on the right side….

Tanguay-Koivu-AKost
Higgins-Pleks-Kovalev
Lats-Lang-SKost
Any combo or Begin-Lapierre-Kosto-Laraque-Dandenault

I think A.Kostitsyn on the right of Koivu and Tanguay would be a great line to try, they are both playmakers and A.Kost. is a goal scorer and those two won't hold on to the puck as long as Pleks and Kovalev.

My Lines would be:
Tanguay - Koivu - A.Kostitsyn
Latendresse - Lang - Kovalev
S.Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Higgins
Laraque - Lapierre - Kostopoulos

I find Kovalev is a little slower this year and his line would all be at the same speed, Latendresse would have to do less and could focus on being in front of the net as Kovalev would be the one to control the puck. The Plek's line would be speed and puck control and all 3 are good at both ends of the ice; I think that line could be similar to the Plek's - Higgy - A.Kost. trio of a couple season's ago because Sergei a similar player to Andrei then.
