I just want Florida and Vancouver to have a back-to-back home and home one time.

The Canucks play tonight in Long Island, Wednesday in Manhattan, then fly all the back to play Minnesota on Thursday (yes, a New York/Minnestota back to back - is there a map available to the schedule makers?!), and then fly back east to play the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Saturday. How does that make any sense?

So if your team plays in the Eastern Conference, you forfeit the right to complain about the schedule. Ever.

A very good point. Especially the Atlantic division. NJ can just walk to New York for games.

Whoever made this schedule doesn't like Vancouver.

Canucks play in Long Island on Monday, then against New York R on Wednesday and Minnesota on Thursday..That is one of the toughest back to backs I have ever seen. For some reason they aren't playing the Rags on Tuesday and having a back to back where you don't have to travel...

You western conference fans have been complaining about travel for years - if you had used all those years constructively, you could've dismantled your cities and rebuilt 'em a little closer to everybody else. You'd prolly be done by now if you worked really hard at it!

When you can drive from your home for a road game, you never get to complain about travel.

Vancouver gets jobbed, so do the Oilers. They played 6 road games in 10 days, 3 back to backs. That's horrible travel. Or having a back to back earlier in the year that was Chicago to Colorado.

You're right about that. They're right in the middle at the very bottom and have to travel a long distance to get to pretty much any other team! Panthers and Lightning probably don't have the easiest travel schedules either.

Try traveling from the west coast to Tennessee to play a team that is (somehow) in your conference

Also, it should be noted that LA and Anaheim are just about walking distance apart. That doesn't count as travel.

Okay for six games LA/Anaheim get a break. During their Stanley Cup year, the Ducks logged more travel miles than any other NHL team.

IMO, this one is even worse.

Tues Dec 30th vs Philadelphia
Thurs Jan 1st @ Nashville
Fri Jan 2nd @ Atlanta
Sun Jan 4th vs Dallas

4 games in 6 nights, travel all the way from Vancouver to Nashville and Atlanta (2 and 3 time zones away from Vancouver) for only 2 games that are back to back? It must have been a punishment for Canucks who failed to make the playoffs last season.

I wasn't trying to compare, but making more of a statement that any team that is on the west coast (ducks, kings, sharks, nucks) that have to play even one game in Nashville is pretty bad. Traveling three timezones for one day sucks. Although on the backend of that (Nashville traveling out west for 41 games) probably sucks even more.

Wow, imagine what you could do with 56,111 travel miles! I've been collecting for years, and I only have ahbout 1,200.

..oh, you didn't mean like that, did you?

you cant argue with total travel miles, but when your travel schedule turns home games into road games, you know that it sucks.

what i mean by that, and im sure every team struggles with this, is this routine:

home game
road game
home game
road game
road game
road game
home game
road game

wow! that puts an end to who deserves to complain for their team travel schedule. SJ travels 3000 more miles than the next most traveled team.

Actually, the report I read earlier was that SJ travelled 90,000+km this season, and next up was 65,000 or so. Quite a bit more than 3,000 miles...

AND YET WE'RE STILL WHUPPING ON ALL YOUS PEEPLS.

Travel shouldn't effect your team too much. Detroits won 4 cups with quite a few miles put on.
