hes really not that good. I think he will clear and the stars will then call up James Neal.

^^^^^^ I don't think this gives the Stars enough cap room to call up neal... Crombeen only makes .55 wheras Neal is at .8

take him if you want, if there's any team that needs another 4th line plug I'm sure it's the canucks.

seriously, when the Stars drafted this guy the hope was that he would develope into a decent power forward but I've seen absolutly no indication of such a transformation ever happening. Brandon Crombeen is basically the same thing as Krys Barch - he'll take his 3 minutes of ice time and maybe fight some light-heavyweight on the other team but other then that provides no real value.

wish him luck in the AHL or wherever else he ends up, now let's get rid of Mark Parrish and we'll have enough cap space to call up James Neal

I though it said Braydon Coburn at first glance!

And nice to see that as with any played waived, a fellow Canucks fan has of course wondered if we should get him.

It does not clear enough space.

Dallas would have to also waive Lundqvist, Barch, or Petersen to make it work.

I'm pulling for Barch to get the boot so Neal can come up.

Wasn't BJ Crombeen fairly highly-touted at one point?

Not too familiar with him, but I recognize the name.

Can't say I'm surprised...Crombeen hasn't amounted to what Dallas had hoped...he was deemed to be this long-term project that could do it all...and so far, he's gotten the hard-working, physical side down, and he's become a decent 4th liner...but he hasn't yet (and I don't see him pulling through with it) developed the halfway decent scoring touch that they hoped for...

In the same token, I don't see him being claimed...

Mike do you think this move is to possibly make some sort of a UFA signing? Possibly Shanahan?

Fatwood has skill, we don't need any more 3rd 4th line plugs that is our specailty.

Im sure thats what Toronto thought when they got rid of him...and when Vancouver waived him.

Crombeen can be a good depth player

I would've rather seen Petersen or Barch sent packing, but this'll have to do.

Two moves in two days, let's see what else Jack Hullson has in store for us.

Eklund reports that Hull has murdered Jackson and Burke is the likely replacement(e-5)

He's a plug at best. Fatty has always had big potential.

Crombeen makes $550,000. Neal makes $635,000 and can earn up to $215,000 in bonuses this season, but carries a cap hit of $821,667.

If they don't have the cap space to call up Neal, where are they going to get it to sign Shanahan?

Is that not, in principle, what he said?

Oh, and you STILL haven't updated your UFA list.

Depends on what Shanahan would take in regards to salary...if he is willing to take less than Neal and a tad bit more than Crombeen who knows. He has to know the days of him making 1 million + is over.
