sucks for him. He wasn't playing that great. Good time to get some new blood and try to change things up.
*unfortunate that it happened at a meaning less time.

Well, an injury to Pisani is just what this team needed.

But I guess that opens opportunities for some young guys. Schremp or Brule?

argh, not good.

i know it's cliched round these parts, but is now the time for schrempie? the team's struggling, they need a boost. they have an opening outside the 4th line for once. now is as good of a time as ever.

Atleast this rules out him playing centre.

Probably out for 6-8 weeks. I'll laugh if no one is called up and Mac T opts to put Smid in at wing.

Tough break for Pisani.

Regardless of what people were saying, he was playing the role he was supposed to.

Nilsson - Horcoff - Hemsky
Schremp - Cogliano - Cole
Moreau - Gagner - Penner
Reddox - Brodziak - Pouliot

I would like to see this line up.

I apoligize for the bad/obvious pun I was going to make about some prospect or goon/hack getting their chance...but I can't do that about Fernando. He is a gamer, and I look forward to him returning some time next year. Unfortunately, broken ankles suck in a sport like this, and I can't see this being a quick one to bounce back from.

I say dump that sack of rice, and bring up somebody who can play hockey.

Nilsson Horcoff Hemsky
Cogs Gagner Cole
Moreau Brodziak Penner
Reddox Pouliot Stortini

Is probably the lineup. Penner in, Pisani out, probably no difference either way.

Looks like Smid will probably draw in on this.

No kidding--he's just been so solid offensively and defensively...

Might as well 'dive for top-5' now.

He's been brutal--at both ends of the ice. Hope whoever gets his place takes the opportunity and runs with it.

It's sooner than I would've wanted to call up Brule, but we need a spark.

Or:

Nilsson-Gagner-Hemsky
Penner-Cogliano-Cole
Moreau-Horcoff-Pouliot
Reddox-Brodziak-Stortini

Is this something that just happened tonight or something that was lingering like Ryan Kesler's injury? If it was lingering that would explain a lot about Pisani's play.

I might have ... until you realize Mac T already said in public he was considering this. Smid at LW is a definite possibility.

We did not need to lose another vet, nevermind a staple on the PK and checking line.

Watching the youtube of the injury again, I was really impressed with Lidstrom that, as soon as he realized what had happened, stopped playing to stay beside Pisani until the training staff came out. Pretty classy move, I thought.
