I play for a rec team in Romford, Uk. Romford Tornadoes!
We've got a late night game on friday against the Vancouver Buzzards. They've just toured Germany and they're playing two games in the Uk before they return home. Us on friday and Chelmsford just up the road on Saturday. Anyway....

Anyone heard of them?

Yeah I remember seeing them play. All their players are over 6'2 and 200 lbs plus. They skate faster and harder than any other hockey team, they will either score on you or break your nose. be afraid.

Coming from a poster with that username, you know that he's always serious.

Everybody from Vancouver is awesome at hockey, so yes, be scared.

(I don't actually know anything about them. Avery4Byng's description shouldn't be taken lightly, though. Dress your best goons.)

Tada

The only notable is Chris Szysky, who was a draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 1994. Played in your country back in 2002-03 with the Sheffield Steelers, and was one of the team's scoring leaders despite missing half the season.

The rest of the team is comprised mostly of former Junior A players who went on to play Canadian collegiate hockey. A couple of them got cups of coffee with lower-tier minor league teams.

Ben Knopp was a third round pick of Columbus

Hi Steve

I am the travel coordinator who booked the Buzzards Europe tour. FYI the average age of the team is late 50's and they have played in Amsterdam, Krefeld and Paris. They are not a great team and just want to have a friendly game and then a get together with your team after the game. Hope this helps.

Don

Thanks for your response Don.
Me and some of the guys were just interested in what we're up against and who you guys are.
Should be a great game. May post some photos on here if the wife takes any tonight.

How was the game?

It was a really cool game.
The buzzards got 4 calls for tripping. We didn't get a penalty all night.
Maybe Canadians do cheat

nah....Seriously it was a good night!
