Non-Flames to watch out for:
OHL:
Taylor Hall - 2010-draftee. Leads the OHL in scoring and plays on the same line as Greg Nemisz. I have talked to some regular OHL-observer, who argue, that he is already better than John Tavares. One of if not THE early favourite for the #1-overall in the 2010 draft.
Ryan Ellis - 2009-draftee. Currently second in scoring in the OHL as a defender. Has a devastating shot, but his defensive abilities are questioned. Ranked #16 of the 2009 draft crop by ISS in November.
John Tavares - Doesn't need further explanation.
Zach Kassian - 2009 draftee. Ranked #15 by ISS in November. I listed him for two reasons: he is one of my favourite players in the OHL and he fits right into the Flames' drafting scheme: big, strong and tough as nails. Has pretty good hands and skating abilities.
Cody Hodgson - First rounder by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008 draft and since his return to Brampton, the Battalion has cruised through the Eastern Conference. Has 27 points in 15 games and has led his team to a 14-win streak.
Other notables: Nazem Kadri, Matt Duchesne (clear cut 2009-#1-rounder), Trevor Cann (promising Avalanche goalie prospect), Alex Pietrangelo

Jared Cowan- Big defencemen from Spokane. Rated number one in the rankings today for WHL players in this year's draft.
Evander Kane- Leads the league in scoring and is ranked 2nd behind Cowan in the rankings released today. Amazing skill and one of the top players in this draft year.
Brayden Schenn- My Uncle sees a lot of Wheat King games and has nothing but great things to say about the kid. Point a game player and the kid has some great skill. Is Luke Schenn's brother.
