Hey, I posted a thread about this but I actually forgot about GDT....anybody have any info. on Sturm. I heard he missed the morning skate. I hope he plays. I want Nokie to get some time but not at Marco's expense.

4-2 B`s
Bergy/Kobi/Wheeler and Ax with the markers tonight.
The games I've seen him play he's been outstanding, I haven't seen his turkey games. Let's hope the Blaine Lacher version shows up tonight instead of the Ken Dryden version.

Thanks for the confirmation. Don't wanna bother you guys with pool related stuff but I have en empty spot in my pool and grabbed Fernandez for a spot start tonight and was planning on dropping him right after. You say back to alternating now since he's been playing strong, but are you just assuming that, is it based on anything? Seems like Thomas is still the better option and #1 while Manny is the backup.

Would it be wise to hold on to Manny in hopes that he may be splitting?

I don't know about straight alternating, but MF will get his share. The habs seem to be the only team that makes Timmy look bad sometimes, so I expect MF to get the start saturday as well. But be careful, the Habs will be raring to go and they can break out at any minute.
I have to admit, it's more exciting to be one of the hunted now. The tests never seem to stop.

Yeah I noticed that, guess it also depends on how he plays tonight. I could hold on, but Thomas has just been so damn good that I don't see how the current trend (Thomas 12 games, Manny 6) doesn't continue. I could probably get more value out of someone else, but hopefully he gets me a solid start tonight and maybe I'll hold on to him for the weekend.

Fluto says Marco very doubtful. Upper body ailment.
We knew we wouldn't stay healthy forever and here it comes. Let's see some of that depth we've been talking about. Let's start with #29, Petteri Nokelainen.

It is so great that the Bruins are getting some of these division games in while they are white hot. Also great that the division games are down this year. I felt like they only played teams in their division last year and it got boring. Anyway great time for these games. You would rather be playing like the Bruins than like the Sabres going into some division games.
I'll be there too. I hope it's a good one for the B's.

Looks like Sturm will be sitting out with an upper body ailment.

Quote:
According to Claude Julien, Marco Sturm is "very doubtful" to play tonight against Buffalo.

Julien said Sturm is bothered by an upper-body ailment. Sturm was on the ice for the final minute of Monday's 3-2 win over Toronto. Sturm didn't participate in the morning skate.

If Sturm is unable to go, Petteri Nokelainen will be in the lineup. Nokelainen has been a healthy scratch for the last five games.

Yea, I was assuming based on Manny's strong play and the Bruins upcoming schedule. Like others have said, they have back to back games this weekend then again next weekend. So if Manny can continue with the strong performances he could probably get 2 or 3 starts by next Saturday.

That is what depth is for, Sturm goes down and our team doesn't suffer to much. Although our PP takes a step backwards.

Seems like the Coach forces in MF just earn his pay cheque. No top teams rotate goalies IMO.

I bet the "more Wheeler on the PP" crowd get what they want tonight without Marco. I have dissed Wheeler a lot lately, but I'm thinking he's going to shove it in my face tonight. Every time I'm about to give up on him (for now, I know he has an awesome future ahead of him), he has a huge game. I have a knack for smack-talking players just before they put up huge games. Recent examples: Sturm vs. Dallas and Yelle vs. Montreal
Prove me wrong Blake!

Personally, I dislike this type of goalie rotation where goalies alternate every game.
It gives no chance for the goalies to find their groove and it doesn't point out the starting job as clearly.
