Kalinin

I watched the NHL highlight video from Monday against the Sens and I heard the announcer (not msg) pronounce Kalinin's name differently than Joe and Sam...did anyone else see this? He pronounced it, Kah-lie-nin, as opposed to Kah-lee-nin....any idea which is right? maybe both? thanks.

You should hear how Gary Thorne pronounces it in NHL 09.

Speaking of this guy, he's been a very pleasant surprise. Like his game a lot.

Yup, I started a thread on him and redden awhile back. Kalinin has played very solid hockey for us in our zone.

If we were being really picky, it would be "Kah-lee-neen", but really, Sam and Joe are close enough.

Well in that case, it turns out I read the original post wrong and assumed it was Sam & Joe pronouncing it "Kah-lie-nin". Which of course is dumb considering I've listened them pronounce it quite a few times this year.

Guess it's just one of those days.
