Wow, more leverage for when Rangers fans say that Flyers fans are bad. Ah well, it's been almost 30 years and they still chant "Potvin sucks".

This could be interesting.

Uh oh. Looks like the league actually created this monster.

I hope Phanuef wrecks Avery the next time they play.

I bet Avery will just get the "flu" every time they play Calgary now though.

They were actually talking about the Avery incident on Howard Stern this morning. They really had no idea about hockey, but he said the suspension was ridiculous when people that try to kill each other only get 2 games. Which I guess he kinda has a point.

Well she is still Avery's sloppy seconds . . . but the league's worst thirds . . . or whatever the correct lingo is.

So wait, you guys are telling me that Avery had Komisarek's sloppy seconds, and then turned around and tried to insult Dion Phaneuf, a superior hockey play in every single way (except looks and fashion sense ) for dating a hot chick who has been with a few hockey players already????

Interesting, I guess there is no surprise Avery is the most hated player in the league. I still hated him more when he was a Ranger. I wish he still was actually.

Avery also used to date Rachel Hunter, who is now with Jarret Stoll.

Ugh, I'm out of hockey again.

I'm truly living up to the "Lindros" nickname everyone on my Rutgers team used to call me...

Sorry to hear that. I can relate with my god knows how many concussions cause' in the 80's the term was "he got his bell rung". Pull the plug and heal is my advice.

Sorry to hear that man...I actually got my first concussion a couple months ago playing dek hockey of all things (got tangled up with someone, fell and slammed my head awkwardly against the boards)......not fun at all. Had to stop with my martial arts training cause I just got so dizzy when I moved too quickly. I am actually getting ready to go back next week after having to take off a couple months.

Good luck man!! Hopefully you can keep playing but obviously living healthy is most important

That sucks, dude. It's always a pain when your parents interfere with your hockey team.

Concussions blow. I received my one and only concussion from a suicide pass and couldn't play for weeks. I hope you have a speedy recovery; don't force yourself back too early, though!

Barry Melrose was on the Fan 590 discussing his time with the Bolts today:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2590...s=topStory_nhl

He actually said he liked Oren Koules. Len Barrie must be a total jackass.

On a related note, Chris Gratton has cleared waivers (no link, sorry) and will not be joining the Philadelphia Flyers.

Am I the only one that actually wouldnt mind Chris Gratton filling in at 4th line center while Briere is out???? (Ignoring cap implications)

The current AHL plugs have done a fine job. I see no real benefit to bringing Gratton in to play 6-7 minutes a game.

Yeah, not saying they havent, I just think Gratton has a unwarranted bad rep around here so I was half joking. The guy has actually been a good 3rd/4th center the past few years.

I'm especially biased against Gratton because he played for the Frontenacs while I was a STH and I never liked him then. I was dumbfounded that he was rated/drafted so high. The dislike only intensified during his horrible stint with the Flyers. Personally, I don't want him back.

Did anyone else see that Sunday is going to be 'Throw a Glove Night with Scott Hartnell'

I got an email about it and thought it was kinda funny. They are encouraging fans to bring a pair of gloves to throw out on the ice during the first intermission. And Harts will be at the game, meeting and greeting.

Yeah, I saw that... I thought it was great. I really love the Flyers (Phantoms) for their creativity with stuff like that. Way to make an embarassing/funny incident (that turned out okay) and make it a charitable event!
