Hey Kings fans... is Harrold going to be in the lineup tonight? My roommate went to high school with him and was interested in seeing him play now that I told him the game was on tonight against the Caps.

In practice, the lines remain:

O'Sullivan-Kopitar-Brown
Frolov-Stoll-Moller
Calder-Handzus-Simmonds
Ivanans-Boyle-Zeiler

Armstrong and Richardson remain the spare forwards. I'll try to determine who the spare defenseman is, now that Harrold is back on defense.
Not sure yet, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play. On defense.

Quote:
Rich Hammond about Peter Harrold
For the last two days in practice, Peter Harrold has been wearing the black jersey of a defenseman. He had been skating at right wing for the past couple weeks, alongside Patrick O'Sullivan and Brian Boyle, but Terry Murray's shuffling has put Harrold back at his natural position. It also seems to have put him out of the lineup, at least temporarily, but after practice Murray talked about the value of Harrold's versatility...

MURRAY: ``I really want to look at him as a utility player. I think that's a great kind of player to have, if you can develop it and if a player is willing to buy into it. It's a defenseman and a forward who can play on the power play when he's in the lineup. Eventually, I'd like to see -- if he's in the lineup as a forward -- him get into the penalty kill as a forward, and still slide back into a blue-line situation if need be. I think that with the way the game is today, it's a great asset for an organization. The reason he has been on the blue line in the last couple days of practice is, because I'm a little prejudiced toward the D, I think it's a little tougher place to play than a wing. I just don't want him to lose sight of what it is.''

-----

Here are Harrold's thoughts on the right-wing experiment...

Question: What do you take away from this experience that might help you as a defenseman?

HARROLD: ``It gives you a little better respect for what forwards have to do. I'd never really played forward, so it was kind of a first-hand experience as to what they have to do in their own end. It helps me as a defenseman, because now I know where they need to be and what they expect. I need to make sure the passes are tape-to-tape, and it's hard to battle on the wall if you don't do a certain thing for them. It's little things like that.''

Question: Do you feel like you're more valuable to the team, if they know you can play both positions?

HARROLD: ``That's a big thing for me, to be able to learn how to do something like that. That makes me a little more valuable and it adds another dimension to my game. Hopefully, if they need me, they can plug me in anywhere. That's a good asset to have.''

Just be sure to drink plenty and if you're going to get in a fight, get on camera so I can see.

I think the Kings can take this, especially with Semin and Green out. 4-3

Washington's goaltending and defense isn't exactly stellar, either. Anaheim played an absolutely horrible game in their own end last night and still kept it relatively close at the end.

If our top line gets going and our defense stay as sharp as they've been all season, I see the Kings taking this one.

Good luck tonight. Looking forward to seeing the Kings...haven't watched a game of theirs in some time. I'm expecting a Kings win with the Caps coming in after playing last night and the Kings being rested.

Just please don't injure any more of our players....we're tapped out.

Did Bruce Boudreau take the injury bug with him as well? We all know Andy Murray did...

If the game goes to a shootout, I don't see LA picking up the win.

I dunno, Semin is out and I dunno if Federov is a regular shootout shooter but the Kings have pretty capable forwards and Ersberg at least gives us a chance. As long as Ersberg is in net, with the King's young talent I think they are in any shootout they face.

FWIW the caps are usually pretty terrible in shootouts, with the exception of Kozlov. Ovie is pretty terrible, Semin's out, Fed's out, so if it goes there I have little doubt the kings would win.

11-4-3. We aren't great but we are good.

Like somebody else mentioned, Ovechkin plays better when it's physical. His 4 goal game against Montreal is an example.

Good luck tonite. Hopefully no injuries, and I'm excited to see Doughty play.

I agree. The Caps are a good team, but not a great team. They should be favored to win the game, but by no means should anyone be expecting a blow out.

I think it will be a close game. The Kings have have played tight games with the Sharks and Wings, I see no reason why this game would be any different.

It's funny how the tone of this board has changed after just two quick losses. I'm still pretty optimistic, and although I don't expect the Kings to win tonight, I won't be surprised if they do.

Like I said earlier I'm hoping Brown crushes Ovechkin. Also looking for a big night for the reunited 1st line. This is a game the players are excited about so I expect to see some flair tonight.
