All Star Game

Has anyone checked out the voting yet? It's going to be an All-Habs starting lineup as nobody is even close to those players. All 5 skaters will most likely be Habs players. Your thoughts....and thoughts on the process itself?

I find it upsetting that I have to write in Jeff Carter, for starters.

Seeing that many Habs kinda pisses me off.

EDIT: At the same time i'm not surprised the Habs are winning in the polls.

Writing Carter in is useless. He's pretty much already guaranteed to be a coach's pick as a reserve.

I saw onj the main board that the system was hacked and votes were added to Habs players, so apparently all habs players are gonna lose like 25% of their votes

Sergei Gonchar and Ryan Whitney have more votes than Kimmo Timonen, and they haven't played a single game.

Now that Luongo is hurt, all we need is Phaneuf to go down to see a good ole' Red Wings - Canadians match up for our all star game.
Super!

Let the players, coaches, and media appoint the team. Letting the fans choose is literally pointless.

there was no hack it wasnt just set up properly in the first few hours. you could over and over vote for players without having to go thru the hassle of the word verifier. the wife did a massive campaign for coburn and got a huge amount in for one person.

they were just on point. unlike the flyers website who is the last to put anything up.

Don't be so sure. If 5 Habs make it, a few others will have two or three, the Flyers may only be stuck with one, and Timonen is more likely to make it as a defensemen when you figure Carter is in a conference with Lecavalier, Malkin, Crosby, Parise (should make it with no Brodeur), Doug Weight may go from the Islanders. Carter may be shut out just on the numbers game.

Habs fans cheated...they even talked about it on TSN

NHL removed "some" of the votes, but not all of them

what a joke

Assuming the top 3 forwards will be from Montreal, then it truly is useless to write Carter in. But as for being a reserve, there aren't many players in the East who have outplayed him, so even if they're mandated to take a guy from each team, I don't think Carter should/will be the guy who has to lose his spot to accommodate that. But, then again, it may indeed just come down to a numbers game. I don't know why I'm talking about this at length. It's just the F'ing all-star game.

hmm in the end though we have Gagne, Richards, Timonen, Briere, Coburn, and Biron on the list. Who do you guys think are locks? Like im pretty sure Gags will be and most likely Richards. How bout Kimmo and now that Carter is leading the league in goals, and he continues to score goals, do you think he will make it also? 4 players from our team will make it?

Doesn't matter about outplaying them, it's that they make sure every team is represented, and with that Carter may be the odd mad out because it's much easier to take Timonen and maybe Gagne. Timonen may even be a lock just because there isn't a laundry list of defensemen. You probably figure, Timonen, Markov, Kaberle, Chara, Ballard is a lineup on defense that could happen.

My list so far:

Rangers: I see only one player making it. Lundqvist
Flyers: Gagne, Timonen (Richards and Carter maybe, if they keep it up)
Pittsburgh: Malkin and of course Crosby (if he psomises not to whine to refs)
NJ: Parise
NI: No one.

Boston: Chara, Savard, Thomas
Habs: Markov (Koivu maybe)
Sens: Heatley, Alfie
Leafs: Kaberle
Sabres: Vanek

Caps: Ovechkin, Semin (Greene maybe)
Tampa: LeCavalier (maybe, not impressed with him this season)
Flo: Vokoun
Canes: No one
Atlanta: S.Kozlov
Coach Sutter, Julien (spelling)

Do people really care this much? So what if Carter doesn't make it this year? He will some other year. I'm going out on a limb and saying only Gagne will make it from the Flyers. And you know what? I won't care at all. It's not like the all-star game is some vindication that we have good players. We know we do.

If our All-Star starters are

Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev
Markov-Komisarek
Price

I will refuse to watch the All-Star game out of spite.

None of them should be starters. In fact, only 1 or 2 of them even deserve to make the team.

What's funny is you can blantantly see underneath them who deserves to start.

Ovechkin-Crosby-Malkin
Chara-Greene (Gonchar won't play enough games)
Fluery

Wow, the Pens stuffed the ballot too.

**** pens and habs fans.

All Star voting is always a joke. Theres always Canadiens and Leafs that are there that dont deserve it. They just have more fans than anyone else.
