Why no forecheck?

We are the farthest thing from a defensive team there is in this league, yet Carbo thinks its necessary to sit back all night long with this pointless 1 man forecheck. Whats the point of being speedy and skilled if you are not going to utilize it? Whats funny is the system is defensive oriented, yet we continue to be outshot and outchanced every game and give up more odd man rushes then i have ever seen! Bottom line, Carbo's system needs to be revamped or he needs to go.

The thing I have been trying to figure out is, when the other team dumps the puck in, they are always first to the puck. But when we dump it in, we're not even close.

I thought getting Kovalev to dangle meaninglessly and turning it over was our forecheck?

You can't have a a good forecheck if your team is playing like a bunch of *******.

Thank god for Price tonight. Could have been a lot uglier than it was.

Interesting observation.

I have wondered the same thing.

Its hard to forecheck when you are constantly trying to help our your hideous defensive core. The team hasn't been able to jump up with speed because they are always covering up for the Gump Family Reunion on the blueline.

It's quite funny how you take it all out on one player like if he was the responsible for everything bad that's going on with the team.

Grow up.

The rookie mistakes are starting to show in Carbos coaching.

The habs don't have the horses to play that kind of game. They're just a bunch of prima ballerinas...

Agree 100%. I was pulling my hair out tonight. Ottawa has a slow stay at home defense, instead of no pressure, we should have forechecked the heck out of them. The ice was bad also, this makes it harder to pass the puck out.

Habs really miss Komisarek and need another vet dman (prolly not until later due to cap). Briesbois and OByrne are pretty sorry looking NHL Dmen who need their hands held.
