Flyers in the red

"Theoretically, we are one of the most profitable teams in the league," [Flyers Chairman Ed] Snider said. "But we are losing a bloody fortune this year. The Philadelphia Flyers will lose more money this year than ever before in our history, unless we go to the Stanley Cup Finals. The salary structure is way out of whack."

Lies. All lies. The NHL has no problem.

Remember - cloaking devices in seats to hide attendance, Neilson boxes only hooked to TVs of people that hate hockey to give low ratings. Its all a terrible scam. The greatest conspircay in history.

This announcement, of course, has nothing to do with the fact that a merged Comcast-Disney entity would have to divest themselves of one of the Ducks and the Flyers.

It's not an annoucement, it's a quote buried in an article about the possible work stoppage. Comcast would sell the Ducks first anyway (aren't they up for sale?).

there's a big difference.

Alot of businesses claim to "lose" money when their profit margins decline from year to year. It doesn't mean they actually lost money, just that they didn't make as much or more than the previous year.

just a thought.
