top 6 Winger or 3rd line C?

It's obvious the team needs another forward

They either need to keep Gomez, Dubinsky ,Drury as the C and get a winger for Gomez OR move Drury up on the top 2 lines and get a good 3rd line C............Korpikoski is best as a winger

I would hope for

Naslund, Gomez, TRADE
Voros, Dubinsky, Zherdev
Korpikoski, Drury, Callahan
Sjostrom , Betts, Orr, Fritsche

So that leaves Dawes, Fritsche, Prucha, Rissmiller as trade bait which isnt much except for Dawes............I imagine Rozi has to be moved to get something descent cause as bad as he has been playing he would be desirable to other teams

Who's going to take Rozsie's spot?

And don't mention any names from Hartford because none of them are playing well enough to deserve the job, and even if one was called up, that would leave us dangerously thin depth-wise on defense should anyone get hurt.

I agree they would have to get a Back end Dman to take his spot and a top 6 forward

I think they go to the deadline but u never know............other teams would value Rozi and Dawes,,,,,,Fritchse could have value for a younger team too..........Riss and Prucha would be throw ins at this pt

I was thinking more like this.

Naslund Drury Zherdev
Dawes Gomez Fritsche
Voros Dubinsky Callahan
Sjostrom Betts Orr

I don't believe "Get rid of Renney" was one of the options, so don't bother bringing it up in this thread.

There is no top 6 winger that we'd be able to get that suits are needs. We would have to give up too much for Gaborik, and I don't know who else we would be able to get.

Considering he's played what? Two games this season? I don't think Gaborik is a good move regardless of the cost.

The last thing this team needs is more centers. We could sure use another legit top-six winger, but I seriously doubt he's going to solve our problems.

After some research, I think Frolov can be possibly moved for cheap. Last time I heard, he was playing the checking line. They have no more use for him.

of course this team has to solve some elementary problems first, like actually starting to play from the first minute and not the third period...

but if they would be playing to their abilities another top six winger might put them over the top

It might, but there isn't much sense in dismantling our line-up until we get some sort of idea regarding who works well with who.

The team isnt meshign anyway. You can bring in another winger, fine. But that doesnt change the fact that this team simply doesnt come out to play.

I've said this many times.

THE ONLY WAY to get a bonifide top 6 winger, is to trade GOMEZ. Not Rozy, not redden. GOMEZ.

Even if you trade one of Redden or Rozy, you need to get another defensemen to replace them. Nobody in HFD is ready yet. Getting a good dman costs money. Getting a winger costs money. WE don't have much cap space. #'s don't add up well.

and our strength in the minors is in center. We have alot of center prospects. It makes sense to trade a center than. We arent going to trade Dubi. Betts has very limited value. Drury has an NMC. Gomez has a NTC for 3 teams, is overpaid, has pretty good value, and frankly is completely overrated by our fanbase.

you trade him and a first round pick (that contract is a killer) and you can get a good first line winger. and rid ourselves of a horrendous contract.

I'd at least wait until January before considering a major trade. Unless something really perfect presents itself anyway.

Sather doesnt have much to trade. I dont see a situation out there where a GM is ready to trade a top 6 winger just to get him off the team, and that pretty much what it would take given what Sather has to work with.

Prucha? Dawes? Rissmiller? Fritsche? Korpikoski?

What teams going to part with a bona fide guy for this struggling bunch?

Sanguinetti, Anisimov ? Promising but unproven.

GMs from other fine franchises are asking about Staal, Dubinsky, Girardi maybe Callahan

If you want to trade for a REAL upgrade, if theres one even available, are you prepared to give up Staal, Dubi, Girardi, Callahan budled into a package with some of the guys you dont want like Dawes, Prucha etc...

You have to give to get

unless your willing just dump salary and pay Mats Sundin, which looks more and more like an idea whose time may come.

Not unless he's planning on playing for next to nothing. I also don't think we're in the running for him despite what some people are saying.
