One win. Nice win, but only one. I would really like to see a few strung together

That's because the only player Brooks has had an bigger tingle down his leg for than Gomez is Bobby Holik.

have Gomez and Zherdev really had a chance to play together in order to form an opinion?

He may've been overly negative but I think if you look at the games, you'll see that Zherdev has had a point in 11 of 24 games (46%). Gomez is 10 of 18 (56%) and Naslund is 14 of 23 (61%). His point was that in those 13 games he didn't score, he was either detrmintal or going through the motions, which is what can be debated, but that may not be the optimal traits of a player who's up for contract and who has an option to go to Russia and perhaps, in Larry's mind, it's not worth chasing this guy. Personally, I won't formulate an opinion until next season. I see somewhat where Larry is coming from. I see a lot of talent there too. He still has time to shape himself into one heck of a player this season.

I remember when they first started the Sweet Caroline thing Trautwig asked one of the players why they picked that song (don't remember which player it was) and he said it was because the words were easy to remember and all the Euro's could sing along to it too. Than he said: "Other than Jagr, he just sits in a corner and mumbles" HAHAHAHA just a little tidbit of old Jagr humor I remembered.

But yeah, seriously, when Zherdev decides to bring it he really has all the tools. Sick puckhandling, sick vision, sick passing, great shooting. If he attacked the game 82 times a season he could be top 10 in points.

Good effort tonight.

Maybe i should make the next GDT?

Finally some movement and creation up front. Drury and a few other guys have to get a little more patient but they were coming out of it towards the end of the game. Loved how the Rangers kept pressing at 3-1. Thats the way that have to play, but i think while this is a springboard to a better level of play, it came against a sub-par opponent.

I dont know if its a blessing or a curse going down to Florida this week. They usually stink it up down there BIG TIME. But if they can find a way to keep this style of play going, they should be able to take advatage of both the Lightning and the Panthers down there. You know the Bolts are going to start Smith again, so the Rangers really need a good start.

Zherdev tonight was sensational. When this kid is on he scary creative. Did anyone catch the postgame interview with Lundqvist? I've never heard a goalie say what Lundqvist said about he's the only one who sees the holes everytime.

Can you elaborate on this? I missed the interview and am not sure exactly what he meant

he was saying how as a goalie he sees the entire ice and is able to see passes or chances that arent usually seen by everyone else who is closer to the play....he was saying how he has never seen a player who sees exactly what he is seeing like zherdev does and how he always sees those holes most other players do not....basically he was stating zherdevs vision is second to none

Good win tonight..glad to see the losing streak ended before it got alot worse. Phoenix has a ton of good young talent, but they aren't close to ready. That was a game that we needed to win. Good to see Dubi get off the schnide with a nice fluke goal...even though he really shouldn't challenge Daniel Carcillo ever again lol

It was fun being a Phoenix fan even though it was a terrible game for Phoenix. The Rangers should have won this game...if they hadn't then there would have been some serious problems that would have to be addressed. Michal Rozsival better be kissing Lundy's pads because he is the only reason that those turnovers didn't get capitalized on.

Oh well....#1 overall pick for the Coyotes here we come!!!!

Layoff the Schlitz malt liquor during games, cause how you blame Drury for this....? Staggering...or staggerelli, take your pick

i missed the first 10 minutes so i assume it was more of the same.

so far ive noticed some new stuff....

weve been out chanced
our opponent appears faster
hank is saving our bacon. could be 3-1 easy
cally threw our first good hit at the 10 minute mark.

wait, thats the same old stuff.....
Love this one. He comes in halfway through the period, gives his usual jab, then the game is actually played and proves all of the above wrong. Yeah, you're the best Ranger fan of all time my friend. On point !

Looked like a great game. I didn't manage to stay up late last night so I missed it. But I watched the highlights today.

Its a monday night. Theres usually a big difference no matter what the score.

But I did notice some heavy booing of Rozsival when they announced the added assist on the Betts goal. Pitiful.

After the first 10 minutes, the Rangers pretty much controlled the game. The defense could use some tightening still, but they played most of the game just how they need to in general to be successful. There are also no easy games in the NHL. If they played against the Coyotes like they played against Vancouver or Ottawa, they would have lost.

It was a good game with a lot of good things in it. Hopefully they build off that and get back on track.
