Quote:
-- Jassen Cullimore's injured right knee looks fine, he was back out practicing today and should play tomorrow against the WhalerCanes. Talked to him Friday night in Boston and he was walking well so it's good to see nothing was serious.

"If he doesn't have the brace on, it's probably a worse injury,'' DeBoer said. "We missed him the other night.''

-- Cory Stillman is still being held out because of his concussion, Pete saying he's out at least another week. "Concussion are strange animals and you never know what the recovery time is going to be,'' DeBoer said. "I know in talking to him that he's feeling better and will start doing some light exercising. He's at least a week away.''

-- Bryan Allen made a visit to practice today. He's still on crutches after having major knee surgery, and says he'll be on them for another month.

-- Rostislav Olesz is back and should play tomorrow. He was on a line with Kamil Kreps and Radek Dvorak.
Waiver of Belak puts Panthers on notice
Long view buys time for Florida Panthers
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

Long story short, Cullimore should return tonight and replace Welch. Olesz will also return after having been benched, and of course Belak is ineligible to play while on waivers. Another week off for Stillman's return.

Red Hot Cat Of The Night Bryan McCabe, who has 8 points in his last 6 games, adding 2 assists last game.

Primary Target

Joni Pitkanen, the former Flyer and Oiler, Joni and Bouwmeester long had been debated against each other here on HFBoards. A lot of the debate disappeared along with Pitkanen when he went to Edmonton. Has Pitkanen failed to fulfill his potential? Will Bouwmeester now always be considered better? Can anyone tell me why I'm dredging up this old debate?

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

Nice GDT! You really did your research, although your "Primary Target" should be Chad Larose. He's gonna win the Hart you know! Anyway, let's keep this game clean (no diving), and the worst of luck to you

I'm wondering if the Panthers can decline a penalty and just stay 5-on-5?? God, our PP sucks.

Hopefully the cats can pull out a win, as they've played better at home so far this season. I'm going with a 5-3 win in OT...

This has to be sarcastic or a typo. Either way, I thought it was funny!!

After this Belak thing, the Panthers better play angry tonight - like in the 3rd Friday. If they don't - well, I guess it will just prove there's no saving this team with the current crop of players. Or GM. Or Owner.

I'll keep the coach, though. He was the first to express disgust with the effort there.

It was a little joke to honor Belak's 30-40-100 comment.

I think this will be a good game for the cats, so I'm predicting a W. But, it won't mean anything because we aren't going anywhere this season anyway. If they win this one, they'll likely lose a few before they win again. Or they will just lose tonight which will likely result in Martin waiving someone insignificant like Welch or Peltonen.

Really sucks Boynton is out. Cullimore should be back, but that means Welch is in tonight.

This team needs to come out pissed tonight, and be pissed for 60 minutes. Channel the anger they all felt when finding out Wade had been put on waivers, go out there and hit, pressure, shoot the puck everytime they have a chance to, and keep it up for the entire game.
This should have been a wake up call, lets see who is still sleeping.

If this team doesn't come out with some fire, I think it the belief that most of us have that they just have no heart for this game.

If what we've read is true and the players really do like Belak as much as it seems, they better come out and show some passion.

I hope this puts everyone on notice to shape up or ship out and good riddance to those who don't respond to this.

If history has told us anything, we will come out flat. Only to fall behind and try hard in the 3rd. I don't see this a positive game for us.

That is likely to happen. Especially with Melichar and Babchuk as our 3rd pairing. I'm sure you will score everytime those fools hit the ice. Its bad enough when you got one out there, but two.

Sucks to hear that Stillman still isn't better. Even though he signed with you guys, still gotta like him. Heart and soul kind of guy.

Oh and for our goalie tonight, it'll likely be Leighton in net since Ward played last night. Usually Lavi switches on a back to back.

Everyone is afraid to create a GDT on canes board, too much bad karma recently.

Would you guys mind to share this one? I swear, all you'll hear from Canes fans will be complains about their own team and calls to fire a coach.
