and to be honest.... Kovalchuck playing with a playmaker like Hemsky would probably help the team out in the coming years more than Gagner and Hemsky hoping for a prospect to turn into a top flight scorer.
Sue me for wanting Kovalchuk-Gagner-Hemsky 1st line. Anyways is Cogliano's value that much less then Gagner's that the only way to get Kovy is to give up on Gagner? and if we are trading Gagner Kovy better sign longterm for the deal to go through. Even giving Cogliano up is hard to chew on if you think how good he could get.

Kovalchuk-Gagner-Hemsky one more time cause it felt good the first time.

Kovalchuck is still ony 25 years of age compared to a 19 year old sam gagner. Well, kovalchuck had 38 goals as a 19 year old. He is easily, hands down a better player then gagner at this point.

Sure gagner has the potential to be an all-star but I doubt that he becomes better than kovalchuck.

I still wouldn't like to give up a first rounder and 2 prospects. It just seems like too many players that are thrown in to try and balance it out.
Obviously Kovalchuk is better than Gagner and will always be better but I wouldn't like to see him go because I don't think we would have to give him up.

I could handle this...

To Thrashers:
Cogliano
Gilbert
Eberle
1st round pick

To Oilers:
Kovalchuk

That looks like a pretty good enticing offer from ATL perspective.

Hab fan here and I would say it`s a steal for Atlanta unless Kovalchuk is signed to an extant ion. I`m not sure wen he is able to start renegotiation for an extant ion so it`s a big gamble to give up that much for a less then 2 year reward and benefit from the potential Kovalchuk brings.

I'd do that from an Edmonton perspective.

I'd do either deal from an Oilers P.O.V.

Yes it'd be great to keep Gagner. You'd also have to pay him like $7 million dollars to keep in time though because his point totals would explode playing in between Hemsky and Kovalchuk.

Yea that one hurt, so the value has to be there.

To Thrashers:
Gagner
Gilbert
1st

To Oilers:
Kovalchuk

Guaranteed that if a trade for Kovalcuk went down that Gagner or Cogliano would be involved.
