Might Stamkos demand a trade?

Tampa Bay's 1st round choice, 1st overall, in 2008 don't seems to get the ice time he wants and may ask a trade is this goes too long like this.Sunday's game he was benched for the first 15 minutes. And only played 14 min and had a minus -1. I am sure that other team would like to give him more ice time then tampa bay.I won't be surprised if he will or ask for a trade. But yet i am not sure if any team can trade a rookie. can they?

geez I thought there was going to be an article but this is just your speculation.

I doubt he does. Would be nice though to get him out of Tampa.

No rookie would dare demand a trade. That would be career suicide! He isnt playing well enough to be making any demands.

Is this your speculation (OP) or someone else's'? (Eklund)

Might as well be the same person, I guess.

Any rookie that demands a trade should be benched permanently and blackballed by the rest of the league. Plain and simple.

I was just gonna say that. It wasn't career suicide for him, it was more like franchise suicide for Philly.

NEVER, ever going to happen. There's no way that Stamkos is going to demand a trade.

He should be happy the Lightning kept him up on the NHL roster.

He will not request a trade.

"We've been talking to him a lot, keeping his spirits up, and you can tell the last three or four days he's light on his feet, bouncing around in practice and you can tell that he's excited," Tocchet told reporters. "He deserved the ice time tonight. He gets nine shots; some guys don't get that in a month."
-- Rich Tocchet on Tuesday night's performance by Steven Stamkos
New Coach, More Ice Time Seem to Agree With Stamkos

That pretty much debunks this whole thread.

Plus, Stamkos has never been hyped as much as Lindros, so he has less leverage. Seriously, Stamkos has proven nothing against NHL competition (as Lindros did in that one tournament before being drafted).

Because he don't deserve more ice time, he's not ready for the NHL ...

I think you have his head confused with Blake Wheeler.

This thread title is incredibly misleading. "Speculation: Could Stamkos demand a trade?" is far closer to the thrust of the original post.

I'm guessing that Stamkos knew that since he was the number one overall pick that he was going to a very bad team.

He played last night?!?! I didn't hear his name mentioned once, and it was a Tampa broadcast that I watched.

he's not going to ask for a trade but I wont' be surprised if he tries to bolt for free agency early.
