Might Stamkos demand a trade?

He's not going to demand a trade, nor would he have any clout doing so. If he were anyone other than Stamkos, he'd have been sent back to junior already, but the coaching staff knows he has nothing to prove or learn there. What would be best for him is the AHL, but of course that's not an option. Better that they keep him in his limited role and let him get more accustomed to the NHL game.

1- How the **** do you know?
2- Hmm, the 2nd is what Strachan said about Lecavalier, I think we know how that worked out.

Off topic but are you aware how close Toronto was to getting Lecavalier back in 2001?

That pretty much debunks this whole thread.
Actually, this would sort of tend to back up Melrose take on Stamkos. This story ran previous to the game the OP mentioned where Stamkos again rode the bench for a long stretch of the game.

We will see, I tend to think the kid is not really NHL ready yet.

If there wasn't a big deal about him (the seen stamkos ad's everywhere) he would be back with his junior team as we speak.

Stamkos is getting 13-14 mins a game on the ice. That's right about where he should be. Maybe one or two more minutes, but it's pretty close.

He's not going to get any PK time, so when Tampa takes penalties in the game, especially in bunches as they tend to do, it's gonna get his ice time.

Stamkos more or less IS Lecavalier in his rookie season. I think they'll end up having similar point totals. It's gonna take the kid time. This thread is nuts. Though we certainly shouldn't expect it to be closed any time soon because someone would just need to make another thread for non stop Tampa bashing and the mods want to keep the bashing to a single thread.

so.. because of his difficulties in his first reason, he would already be thinking "In 7 years, I get out of here!!" with no possibilities of changing his mind...

he's been in Tampa for two months. Things change.

Mario Lemieux refused to get up and put on the Pittsburgh jersey/hat when he was drafted.

He could privately ask for a trade next summer but that's about it.

True. After all eight weeks is a "long" time....in the life of a hamster.

Stamkos doesn't have the leverage to "demand" a trade.

of course he's not going to demand a trade. This thread is useless. He isn't Eric Lindros.

Please lock.

I feel there is a better chance of the Penguins trading both Malkin and Crosby than Stamkos demanding a trade.... that's how unlikely this is

He's ready for the NHL, he's just very young, and still learning every game. He shouldn't get top ice time until he learns the NHL game.
