4-4 with about 6 minutes left to go. Canada had a string of PP's earlier, and now the Russians are getting their PP's.

I was bashing Eberle all game long for his chest sniping.

Hopefully Tokarski can stop a beach ball in OT or the gayout.

Oh sweet mother of Jesus... my heart just about stopped.

Eberle has to get the player of the game.

Considering how rough Tokarski played, he was great in the shootout.

GOING FOR GOLD BABY!!

Are you talking about we who are excited as hell that our team is going for the gold? If so, I'll be a lady. But I think you can figure out what I'm thinking.

Edit: Billy, why do you even go over there? I wouldn't be caught dead on the main board. It only lowers your IQ when you bang your head against a wall.

I'm fine with you being excited for your team going for gold, I would be if the US was going but certainly not to this degree, I know these tournaments meant much more to Canadians than to Americans, but there are some Canadian fans who insist on rubbing it incessantly in our faces that they beat us and they dominate all.

Edit: Okay, my comment was out of line, I was mad in the heat of the moment, post deleted.

Right, and American sports fans are perfect angels. Give me a break.

Unfortunately, there are morons all over. I've seen a few of those posts and they make me ill. And that would make me feel the same way you do.

I don't have a problem with fans being excited about their teams, but there is no excuse for that crap whatsoever.

Russia played a heck of a game. They may even have deserved to win. Tokarski was about as mediocre as he could possibly be, he can't be worse against the Swedes....can he? Pretty exciting finish to a game that seemed to have some really bad ice.

I wouldn't go as far as saying Russia deserved it, but the game was there for them to take it. I think they beat themselves with all of those penalties and when they iced it with 40 seconds to go.

If the Russian kid hadn't been greedy and tried for the empty netter, Canada plays for the bronze. They played a terrific game, and Canada's D and goaltending were average at best.

January 4, 2009

END OF GAME ... I'll be back with more later.

2:11 - GOAL: USA 3-CZE 2. Want to know how to end a tournament in style? van Riemsdyk skated around a fallen defender and scored between his legs top shelf.

No worries

Too bad this one wasn't televised today, I am hoping maybe there will be highlights on NHL on the Fly tonight.

Also saw this on the early part of the blog:

Quote:
Individual goals:

James van Riemsdyk has 21 career points entering tonight's game, good for second on the all-time U.S. scoring list in this tournament. He said today he is honored to be mentioned in the same breath as the all-time top scorer Jeremy Roenick (25 points).

van Riemsdyk is tied with Brian Gionta with 11 career goals so one would give him second place alone and two would tie him with Roenick for first place.
