I was impressed that Hedman was playing well in the SEL, but I didn't know that he was the best player in the entire league already. Well done Victor!

1. Jagr
2. Hedman
3. Tavares
In all honesty Morozov really have stepped his game up the last few years. I think he could really do something good in the NHL now.

The goal of this thread is unheard of.

Morozov anyone?

Also, Kenny Johansson [sp?] was a very good defenseman and he still is.

Yeah I know, that's why I find it funny so many people are picking him. He's a guy not in the NHL now that may be one of the best players in the world in a while, but he's not at that point right now.

Come to think of it, my original post really could have used a .

And then you go and mention Hedman...

For his age he is stellar and he is a great prospect, but he's not even a top ten defenseman in the SEL.

In that league I'd say the top five right now are Kenny Jönsson, Mattias Timander, Niklas Sundström, Marcus Ragnarsson and Lubos Bartecko. All of those could play in the NHL and be noticeable.

Hmmm if we are talking players in Europe that would be Jagr. He can dominate a game much more than Sundin and is still a better player. I have never been a fan, but there is no denying his talent. Also even though he is only 18 I think that you can not overlook the way Viktor Hedman has played. Around 6'6 or so 250 he has the build already a solid shot from the point and is responsible in his own end. I have heard comparisions that he is as good as Pronger is now and he has yet to be drafted.

If we are talking guys in the minors. Nathan Gerbe has to be up there. This kid is gonna be huge in the NHL. As a rookie he is averaging more than a point at the AHL level, don't know if he will get called up this year. When he is though he will take the league by storm.

Who are these guys on the list?
You have no idea what you are talking about.
The best three players outside the NHL: Jan Marek, Morozov, Jagr.
