Get Sakic or Smyth?

I am in Colorado right now on business trip, and Its pretty clear Sakic and Smyth are playing the final season in denver by attending games, and speaking to hardcore fans as they are heading towards rebuilding. Its funny to hear that since colorado was always a beast in the west before the lockout.

Instead of going nuts over sundin, why not bring in a real winner, a cup veteran in sakic and a leader in smyth. Yes, cap wise it will be a big issue, because both make 6million each.

Burnaby Joe has a NTC and is not going to want to move... it seemed pretty obvious to me that his two choices were 1) retire, or 2) go back to the team that he loves for one last kick at the can. It's not as if he has never won a cup and is going to try to get moved to the team that he feels has the best chance of winning this year... he will merely finish the year with the Avs and retire as the best player to ever play for the franchise.

Smyth on the other hand is an interesting option... but I think he costs way too much money for what he brings to the table. It seems as if his body is completely breaking down and his style of play has finally caught up to him (IMO).

Sakic is untouchable. Not from the Av's perspective, but Sakic's persepctive. Unless you made the Avs the De Facto champions with the offer I kinda doubt he'd waive.

Smyth? Too old, too stale, too long of a bad contract. Take him.

8$ a song chez parée. thats about 6-8 minutes. 8x100 = 800. you get a hundred atleast. now you can do that 800x100x10 imagine how many lap dances. Yeah that's right!!

Sakic will not waive the NTC,if the Avs don't make the playoffs it's early retirement for him,no need to get hurt in the post season, and Smyth to be honest I like has a player however would never pay that contract of his,way too much money.Would rather try again at Hossa or Gaborik in the off season

Even though he's older, Smyth is far more durable than Gaborik.

Well having been to Colorado several times myself. You must have seen by now how much of a god Sakic is to the Av's. There is no way in hell that organization is going to trade Sakic. That's not even including the NTC that Sakic has in his contract. The idea is amazing, but it's not realistic.

As for Smyth, his contract would cripple our team's future.
