What's CN8?

I honestly have no idea. I just know I had to get an internet stream once this year because of it, and now I have to do it again.

I get that the 'C' stands for Comcast, but that's all I can figure out.

Comcast

It's a Comcast only channel and Comcast uses it for some CSN overflow programming. Other than that, it's generally a lot of generic 1990's type cable programming with some local news.

Reminds me a little of prism.

Maybe a cross between prism and that ****ty local channel that tells the time and maybe the weather.

Bottom line here. If you have cable, and you don't choose Comcast as your cable provider, you're screwed for these games? Right?

That is correct.

Is Comcast SportsNet available to other providers?

I have to say it. My ****ty cable company which will only give you Versus if you buy all the other premium channels, well, they suck, but not as much as not having the option to get the games at all, sucks. I've never heard of CN8. I know lots of people who have comcast, all over the country actually. But it's not available here.

I guess I shouldn't complain. I could be a hawks fan in Chicago.

Or, I could have grown up without a dad who always sold my mom a descrambler for 300 bucks, lol.

Its almost impossible to tell where the puck is. You just gotta try and follow bodies.

I have an HD Widescreen and i spent the entire first period trying to adjust the settings to get the aspect right. Not looking forward to this.

For all the commercials that advertise that Comcast has more HD, they do a good job of bull-sh*tting you on this one.

I lived in Center City for years and Comcast was not available on my side of the street, the apartment management comapany went with DirecTV to provide their tenants with TV service. Even with Center Ice living in Philly I missed most Flyers games. Blacked out in my area because I didn't have Comcast(through no fault of my own). I was thrilled when games were on UPN that were a part of the DirecTV package.

I have been "Out of Market" with Center Ice for about 10 years that I was not in Philly. I get maybe 4-5 games with a Philly feed. I cannot understand Comcast's marketing strategy.......screw everybody that supports our teams and company, but you have to live in Philly and subscribe to Comcast???

Sorry to crazy rant about this, but it's been a huge issue for me for years. I don't know how to wrestle this power from some *******s that are not willing to listen to the people. I am still furious and I don't even live in Philly anymore. I get to see every Flyers game now that I am "out of market" again.

It is, that's why the overflow games go there.

Other Cable outlets.

Comcast doesn't give a hoot about satellite.

Comcast is not required to share their CSN feed with Satellite TV companies because of FCC laws, known otherwise as the terrestrial "loophole". They are, however required to provide the signal to other cable carriers. Since CSN is broadcast using Prism's old architecture, which transmits using microwave instead of satellites, the loophole allows them to with hold the signal from the satellite companies, but not verizon's cable service

By the way Comcast recently decided to cut CN8 as we know it, changing it into multiple channels known as the "comcast network" I'm unsure whether they will continue to carry sports games here and there

Ugh CN8 blows. I don't know why they don't put the game on the CW, I don't think anyone would miss Stylista or Dr. Phil for one night.
