Walker has been replacing Sopel recently and he's even worse. Something's gotta give cap-wise to fit Wiz on the team, though.

Exactly, these habs trade proposals get worse each time. What's next?

Keith remains the most underrated player in the league.
So... Keith is the 4th best d-man in the league in your eyes?

BTW, Sergei Gonchar says hello from the IR. He's better than 3/4 of the guys on that list.

That wasn't my list. There's several defensemen missing that I would put ahead of Keith.

Try not to jump to conclusions.

Christ guys, all I said is that I didn't think he wa s top 10 dman in this league which one poster claimed he was. Now you're twisting everything and putting different scenarios in. All I said is that i didn't think he was an OVERALL TOP 10 DMAN in this league RIGHT NOW ...I didn't say he wasen't a top 10 dman in a cap world, or a top 10 dman for the future, or a top 10 dman on defence only...christ. I'm sorry I even responded now...

Duncan Keith is probably not on the market.. maybe Seabrook/Barker/Sopel ..

You can work on Barker maybe..

To Chicago: Tomas Plekanec+Mathieu Dandenault+Guillaume Latendresse+1rst pick '011

VS

To Montreal: Cam Barker+Jack Skille

or

To Chicago: Francis Bouillon+Tomas Plekanec+Ryan White

VS

To MTL: Brent Seabrook

Good Lord, that list didnt even have Chris Pronger.

Pronger, Chara, Lidstrom, Phaneuf, Weber, Bouwmeester, Markov, Kaberle are all better than Keith. Then there are alot of other defenseman that are right on par.

Holy overpayment....Plekanec, 1st, and Lats....uh no..

Ill wait till Barker can prove he can play on his current level on a regular basis. And I like Skille...but just too many uncertainties in that package.

Pronger, Chara, Lidstrom, Markov, yeah. Bouwmeester, not really, pretty close. Phaneuf? No. Kaberle? LOL, please. Weber? As others have mentioned, he doesn't kill penalties, and I expect top defensemen to kill penalties to get consideration.

And once again, that is not my list.

First of all, did I even say that was your list. Second of all, yes Phaneuf is better than Keith. Bouwmeester, imo, is better as is Kaberle. Kaberle is quickly becoming underrated. Gonchar is also better than Keith. Weber, right now, is better. If he keeps it up he could make that a permanent place.

Better PR maybe.

Kaberle is not trusted to penalty kill on a team that is both dead last in defense and dead last in PK. Well, actually, he's been getting some second unit time this season, better than last few seasons I guess, but given the effectiveness of both units, that isn't a sterling endorsement.

So no, someone that bad defensively - and he really is that bad, despite his legions of Leaf backers - is not better than Keith, who is good at BOTH ends.

Yes, he is.

Weber seems to be all offense. Keith kills penalties.

Your opinion is noted, but not terribly supported in some cases by results.

I was fortunate enough to have watched Duncan Keith play in Penticton in the BCHL and in Kelowna in the WHL. I got to know him a bit and I'd just love to have him in Montreal but I agree with those saying that Chicago won't trade him. Barker is a possibility though.
