How Glencross played for you guys? Any better or worse than his little run in EDM?

7 points in his last six games, including 2 goals. All of this on the third line.

Yeah, he's not bad.

Personally, I am really impressed with him and think, that he is one of the few guys, who have been consistent for the Flames all season long. Pointwise, he is currently matching the last season's pace, albeit he has scored less goals so far.

It makes you wonder if he shouldn't move up to the second line. But then on LW, the Flames are overstocked.

There are three emerging players so far this year.........Glencross, Bourque and Boyd all usually play on the lower lines and they are scoring well above expectations.

I knew I would like Glencross on this team based on what I saw from him in Edmonton, and I haven't been disapointed. He's perfect for the third line - fast, works hard, creates energy and can contribute offensively. Great signing by Sutter.

Great pickup and just couldn't be happier with him. Like someone else said he is a perfect third liner on this team. I honestly didn't know what to expect offensively from him, but definetly can't complain about the results so far. He's developing some nice chemistry with Conroy the last couple games.

He'd be third on the Oilers in points.

Is glencross for real? I realize he is a little streaky, but do you think he is really a 50 point guy in this league? Is this what we can expect for the next 3 years, if so I think he may very well be the best signing of the off season, League wide!

The best thing about him is that he fits this team to a tee! even when he wasn't scoring earlier in the season he was still hard on the forcheck and very physical!

He is quickly becoming one of my favorites to watch.

He's been just what all the Oiler fans predicted. Nothing more than an overrated 4th liner.

Glencross is great, although 50 points might be a bit high 40 sounds about right to me.

Great pick up however the guy simply rules and the fact we got him from Edmonton makes it even sweeter.

Confused I guess. Isn't this a thread about Glencross and how he is doing on the Flames? We like him. Great stats, (even compared to the seasoned Souray.) Really enjoyed him being on After Hours after our game. Hard working guy and fun to watch. (maybe a thread about how much better Souray is than the young Phaneuf could be started somewhere........else.)

Curtis Glencross embodies Flames hockey.

He's the type of player that makes you proud to be a Flames fan.

I told all the guys on my baseball team in the summer how happy i was when Sutter had signed Glencross. I also told them to watch out for him because he's exactly what the Flames needed... they're all like huh.. who the hell is Glencross etc.

Well, living in edmonton during last season i really got to see what this guy can do, it seems like every shift he makes an impact. He is a perfect 3rd liner and provides Calgary with things you just cant get enough of: Speed, Grit, and Effort. He gives it every night and its showing on the score sheet.

To me hes a perennial 20-20 player, which is good on the 3rd line.

Is Glencross a second line center?

On pace for 52 points, turns 26 later this month, blazing speed, ok size. only playing 13 and a half minutes a game now, over a minute and a half on the pk every night, and only about on average 40 seconds of pp time ever night. is he for real or just on a hot streak? (he has 9 points in his past 6 games). Thoughts???????????

I'm not sure what to think about the guy, I imagine he won't continue to score as much as he has, but I keep thinking that and then he goes out and scores more.

That said, he's not a center, definitely a winger, he might just steal the second line job if he keeps going like this though.

I am interested to see how the lineup shakes out once Boyd, Prust and Primeau return, maybe like this?

Cammalleri - Lombardi - Iginla
Bertuzzi - Langkow - Glencross
Boyd - Conroy - Bourque
Nystrom - Primeau - Moss

I dunno, it hurts to have Moss that low, you could rotate Moss, Conroy and Primeau I suppose.

I think I would feel confident in the Flames only replacing one of Bertuzzi and Cammalleri (or keeping one) next year though, at least with how things look right now.

no Glencross is not a 2nd line center... you have to be a centerman to be a 2nd line center

Ba Dum Tssss

On some teams (Edmonton) GlenX would get a top 6 role. Not here I'm afraid, not that he minds since he's playing with Bourque/Conroy.

Now I'm not comparing the two, but remember how fast most Flames fans wanted Juice resigned during that hot streak?

This is the worst time to resign him. IMO Moss is at his high point, so his agent would ask for bigger money. Wait till he cools off and then possibly offer a contract at the end of the season.
