Very glad for the two points, but pretty surprised Z didn't get ejected for not wearing a fight strap.

Seems like every time there's a chippy game the Rangers elevate their game. Not talking about Ruutu and his mind games, I'm talking more of when emotions get high and the pace of the game picks up, the Rangers play better. Good win, especially because the Islanders did their usual 3rd period Long Island flop against Pittsburgh who is right behind us.

I think you only get ejected if the jersey comes off/over your head... That's my interpretation of the rule anyway... who knows.

Nice win, I don't know if the Rangers of past seasons would have been able to battle through the physical pounding of the first period.

By the way, what's with coaches not using their top shooters against Lundqvist? Last time in Ottawa Heatley and Alfredsson sit out and tonight they leave Lecavalier, St.Louis and Stamkos on the bench?

Henrik is fearsome indeed.

Many teams are the same way, and it has nothing to do with Henrik. a lot of the best players in the league just cannot perform in the shootout like one would expect. I've heard the logic that they're better in game situations where they rely on their instincts, but when they have time to think too much like you do in the shootout, they end up over thinking and blowing it, while shootout "specialists" generally know their role and can keep it simple.. or maybe some of those guys are just smarter than their star teammates.

One quarter of the way in, I want to see a run of 8 wins in 10 games, 10 in 15, good solid victories against the leading teams and maybe a blowout or two against the weaklings.

If we are going to challenge for at least the conference title, a berth in the finals, then we need to step it up a lot.

I feel a trade coming soon. Something needs ot be done to shake up this team.
i agree we need another sniper, but what was our record at this time last year when we had a shanny, and did we pull off 8 out of 10 or 10 out of 15?

i feel the player we need is a bigger PF-like winger....its not so much a sniper as a bigger top-6 winger.....someone who can open up space for gomez and drury and keep up with them......

I think they said Vinny would've been third, but I'm not 100% sure of that...

On another note, did anyone besides me think that Dubinsky completely telegraphed that he was trying to set up Nazzy for the hat trick? To me, it didn't even look like he was thinking about shooting and was just trying to wait so he could dish it off. If he fakes the pass, Smith goes to his left, Dubinsky finishes off the game in regulation. We got the 2nd point anyway so it's not relevant. Just throwing it out there.

Regardless of whether or not he telegraphed that play, it was god damn beautiful. I love watching Dubinsky's hands develop as he fills out that frame.

I'm not saying it wasn't a great play, but I just think we could've buried it (Dubi or Nazzy) if Dubinsky looked at all interested in shoooting the puck. My comment wasn't a knack on Dubinsky, just an observation.

Mmm... That was a good win. Without a doubt. Good play on the road by the entire squad.
