Bad news out of the Florida Panthers' 3-2 win over Carolina on Monday as Richard Zednik injured his left elbow after being run into the boards during the second period.

Zednik came out of the locker room Monday night with his elbow bandaged up saying it's going to be a while before he returns to the lineup. Pete DeBoer said it was a substantial injury, in that he would be out in terms of weeks.
Peltonen's 2 goals lift Panthers over Hurricanes
Hurt elbow keeping Panthers' Richard Zednik out vs. Devils
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

Boynton may return tonight, which would likely sit Welch again. Belak was practicing again after being waived.

Red Hot Cat Of The Night Bryan McCabe, who has 8 points in his last 7 games and leads the team in +/- with a +4.

Primary Target

John Madden, that poor lost soul in New Jersey, doesn't like being confused with the NFL's John Madden. Clearly there is a difference. One guy used to be an athlete and the other one used to think he wouldn't have to worry about his name later in life. Regardless, there is one thing they can both agree on: Ace Hardware is the friendly place...BOOM!

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO, PanthersRock

I never thought the word "turducken" would make it onto a GDT title.

Although I've never done it. I would love to give it a try. Hopefully I can figure it out, because it's going to be pretty hard trying to do GDT as good as P-Rock does. I can't for Friday's game but would love to do Sunday's GDT if possible.

Tonight will be a much better test for the Cats than Carolina, who was playing their third game in four nights. A loss tonight would mean Monday's victory was a mere aberration due to good fortune in scheduling and emotion from Belak's situation. That won't be the case tonight with NJ coming off four straight wins and haven't played since Sunday. Of course, JM can always waive somebody before gametime for an emotional lift.

*Gulp* I agree with GP....

If they are really going ot turn this thing around, they have to win tonight to show that it wasn't just a one time boost from the Belak situation.

Looks like Belak and Boynton are in tonight. Zednik out, but does not need surgery.

Saw that, hopefully that means Belak's going to drop Rupp or Clarkson. At least take a run at a few guys.

I hope so. Show us what DeBoer wants you to do Belak. Piss some people off. Hit everything in site for all 4 minutes you're going to play tonight.

I hope so, too. He's unfortunately not like Laus, he won't all but force someone to go. Paul was always in the opposition's face, Belak's not like that.

Hey what am I, chop liver? lol

Im not sure if it was DeBoer or Martin that said, "scorers score, and fighters fight." Whoever it was, that is what I want to see from Belak, go on the ice and just start shyte with whoever you can. That is your job.

Thanks...you too.

Clemensson shut us down last time, hopefully we'll have a better game this time around.

mmmmm Turducken

Our team might suck but we've got the best GDT maker in the league. Good luck filling those shoes pb1300 and Beezer.

C'mon Panthers, give us two in a row!!

2-1 Panthers. I echo the statement that these are the best GDTs in the league (it's nice to lead the league in something).

A quick question about Belak. Consider how difficult this is for him--he's got to go out and "do something"...but he could just as easily end up taking a penalty if the other guy doesn't want to dance, and end up hurting the Panthers. I really feel for the guy, he's in a tough spot.

That said, I hope he focuses on hitting hard. If he just realizes that he's not going to catch anyone who skates past him, and doesn't try to reach out with his stick, then he should be ok.

Belak know how to pick his spots, I expect him to take a penalty tonight, but not go overboard. I don't think he'll hurt the team.
