Don't confuse me with a Max defender, the sooner he is moved for something the better. This is more a criticism of Ruff and how he handles his roster than anything else.

I understand where you are coming from. But I will say that before this season Max had already shown he can't be a top line winger. To me there is no reason to try him there again.

Could be. It's hard to tell though when he always turns the puck over at the blue line.

Actually, I've liked Max in the past. When he's on, he's really dangerous. He creates a lot of space for the offense to work, and clearly puts the opposing defense on its heels at times. The problem is that he seems to get off his game so easily, and it takes him a long time to get back on it. At this point I'm just hoping for a trade, like most people probably.

I have no problems with reuniting Vanek/Roy; we need the offense they can produce. I hate breaking up Paille - Gaustad - Mancari, and benching Paille.

I wanted either:

Vanek - Roy - Afinogenov/Stafford
MacArthur - Hecht - Pominville
Paille - Gaustad - Mancari
Afinogenov/Peters/Stafford - Mair - Kaleta

or:

Vanek - Hecht - Pominville
MacArthur - Roy - Afinogenov/Stafford
Paille - Gaustad - Mancari
Afinogenov/Peters/Stafford - Mair - Kaleta

I said before the year started that the sabres should have tried to loan Max to a Russian league club. Just getting him out of Buffalo. The guys time has come and gone and rather than seeing the writing the on the wall the sabres held on hoping and now they must make a decision. keep him and hope or jump him and lose the money. I hope we dump him because he's not worth the defensive trouble anymore.

Yeah, I agree (I say that a lot about your posts)

Max has proved in the past that he can contribute, and he's getting singled out. He takes care of the puck as well as Roy does, yet is the scapegoat for it.

Ruff needs to go, this is starting to border on insanity. Does giving Adam Mair or Mark Mancari Max's ice time make us a better team?? Absolutely not.

I don't think Ruff can get the most out of this lineup anymore. He's sending mixed messages all over the place, and playing favorites left and right.

This would be my lineup for tonights game if Paille has the flu:

Vanek - Hecht (I would love to see Connolly here) - Pommineville
Gerbe - Roy - Afinogenov
McArthur - Gaustad - Macnari
Peters/Stafford - Mair - Kaleta

This would be a great chance to see Gerbe what he can do on a second line in NHL Level.......

There should be a greater sense of urgency now due to the emergence of Mancari. The Sabres hand will be forced when Kotalik and Connolly return. I don't think Mancari will be sent down if he continues to play well and he definitely won't be if he stays long enough to be waiver eligible. There's a good chance Afinogenov will be waived when we reach roster crunch time.

I agree, Max has very good reason to be pissed. I am by no means a Max fan but Ruff has not been handling him well at all.

It's unfortunate that we'll lose him for nothing. I can see him going the way of Audette, getting a lot of minutes and flourishing on a team with little talent and a losing record. (Wait, maybe that's the sabres).

Max is a square peg on a team with only round holes.

Hey guys, can you give me a reason why Roy is struggling offensively and defensively this season. He's killing my poo.

No Hecht is not playing worse than Roy. No one is.

Hecht quietly contributes. He settles our lines and plays defense. He isn't the kind to make a scoresheet splash

I like how Max notes that he plays better when he's happy. So he's saying he can actually get worse? I'd like to see that. On second though, no I don't.

He can mope around all he wants, but it sounds like Regier's been trying to trade him for a long time. Maybe Regier isn't trying hard enough, but Afinogenov's got to take some of the heat. Maybe if wasn't a useless waste of space making 3.5 million dollars, someone would want him.

Go to the doctor if something is wrong with your poo.

There's no reason that explains Roy's poor play thus far. Especially with Vanek looking as good as he does - doesn't make sense

He's killing your poo?

Defensively, I have few concerns with him, for the most part he's been alright.

Offensively, he's trying to be too fancy, passing--and making bad passes to set up the "perfect" play that's instead being intercepted by the other team--when he should be shooting, and just doesn't seem to have his head on straight right now.

We have no idea why, but I think he's starting to turn the corner. Although also, he's historically known for being a slow starter.

Hey maybe in the offseason he can learn to play tennis from his girlfriend (all you do is hit it back to your opponent, he should feel right at home). Cause he probably wont find a job in the nhl.

Are you kidding? Won't find a job in the NHL?

Unless he refuses all offers he gets, he absolutely will.

If this is how he plays when he pissed, Ruff should sleep with Max's girl.
