Broken finger AND broken foot...it makes you wonder how long he's been playing hurt, doesn't it?

I think we're all really going to realize how many shots Johnson actually blocks now that he's out...hopefully someone else can pick up the slack.

Jebus.. how many more broken feet are we going to have this year? Don't want to turn into the Roughriders and their broken leg problems.

It's a pulled groin, after a week or so you'll be able to gingerly walk on it, skating is not terrible different if you're going for a few light laps. He isn't doing any drills involving quick movements and reflexes yet. He'll still be a couple weeks away.

Agreed. You have to look at it as a positive, but it's just skating. Depending on how hard you skate, it isn't much different from walking, which he was able to do right away. But it's still a plus.

And man, Hordichuk...you're on the ice for 5 minutes and still manage to block a shot that breaks your foot!

I wonder if Hordichuk had a similar situation to Beiksa and Johnson, where they had their foot injuries for numerous games and played through the pain. People have been speculating that Hordi has been playing hurt all season and has looked slower than usual for most of this season....its just speculation on my part but I guess we'll find out soon

Hopefully Rypien will return soon so Brown won't be our 4th line enforcer since Brown has boring fights

LUONGO AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Quote:
COLUMBUS — Roberto Luongo spent nearly an hour on the ice today with Vancouver Canucks goaltender consultant Ian Clark and acknowledged for the first time that he believes he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a groin strain.

“If you had asked me if I thought I’d be skating at this time last week when I had the press conference, my answer would have been no,” Luongo said. “If you want to say I’m ahead of schedule, I guess yes.”

While his teammates skated at the Ice Haus practice rink at Nationwide Arena, Luongo worked out on the main ice surface with Clark.

“Today I really pushed it pretty hard and it felt all right,” Luongo said. “We have to make sure we keep building it day by day and doing a little bit more and testing it a little more until I am ready to start practising with the team.”

That doesn’t figure to happen for at least another few days. The next step for Luongo is to spend some more time down on the ice.

The fact that he could be practicising with the team in a few days is huge. Hopefully that means he won't be out for more than the duration of this road trip which ends a week Saturday with a game in Edmonton.

it would be interesting just to see what kind of numbers he could put up in the AHL. if Schneider can put up the numbers he's putting up, would Lu even let in a goal?

Is Sanford healthy, or is he out from the back injury? Who is slated to start Thursday?

Any info. Poolies around the world are tuned in! After Luongo went down I traded him for Sanford, now he is having trouble. I feel like I'm cursing them!

I'm at work and can't copy links, but there was a poster on CDC who linked to an article stating Sanford may not be ready to go and the Canucks may recall Julien Ellis to play backup to Cory Schneider...we have all the freaking luck in the world with injuries. No pressure, Cory or Julien! We have back-to-back games coming up, to boot.

I honestly love when people drop top players who are injured for like a week or two. It's how I got Jeff Carter and Johan Franzen.

Oh, and I'll have to echo the previous two posters that trading Luongo...not smart
