Happy Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow American Cat fans. This is my first Thanksgiving ever outside of the United States. Im going to miss that great tradition with leftovers for days. If anyone wants, you are more than welcome to overnight me some stuff here in Greece

Fun Thanksgiving facts:

The Pilgrims didn't land at Plymouth Rock, they landed at Provincetown Harbor eventually making their way to the Plymouth settlement around a month later.

The traditional image of Pilgrims in black clothing with white collars, pointed hats and giant belt buckles is a complete fabrication. These were caricatures designed to lampoon the image of Pilgrims as quaint and old fashioned. Actual Pilgrim clothing was essentially the same as English fashion for that time period.

Not much is known about the foods the Pilgrims ate during the first Thanksgiving feasts. The only food we can be sure was eaten is venison.

While turkey does contain high levels of drowsiness inducing tryptophan the amount is comparable to many other meats and foods. Turkey contains about the same amount of tryptophan as chicken, beef, salmon, and contains less than pork chops, cheddar cheese and atlantic cod. Post-thanksgiving drowsiness is probably due to consumption of high amounts of carbohydrates and alcohol.

A new Thanksgiving fact for 2008:

The Panthers suck!

But I am thankful for them because they are always around to get me excited....and get me pissed off too.
