Sun says -Tampa cleaning house-any interest in these names specifically?

Evengy Artyukhin, Radim Vrbata or Mark Recchi? 11/16/08, there was an article in the Toronto Sun saying that the firing of Barry Melrose was just the tip of the ice berg as far as where the organization is going. They want to clean house.

They mentioned Vinny, St. Louis, Ranger, and Mezaros as the only players they wouldn't trade. A few of them have nt clauses. But then it also said in the Sun that they wouldn't be a bit surprised if GM Brian Lawton asks St.Louis to wave his no trade clause to really shake things up.

So I wanted to know what you Ranger fans think of the first 3 names I mentioned and what do you think it would take to get one of them?
I singled those three names out and mentioned St. Louis because all 4 of those players are right wingers who may be able to play with Gomez on the first or second line. If not, maybe plug them in else where in the lineup. What do you guys think?

Tampa's owners really really suck. You spend all that time retooling over the summer, then jetison everything 1/4 of the way into the season. These guys have no clue about hockey, it seems.

That said, I'd be interested in Paul Ranger, but the Rangers would have to move someone like Rozsival in return

He's just going to be another Isbister for us. We need a player who can actually score

It's a bummer they plan on holding on to Meszaros.....he is on pace for his worst season so far in his short NHL career. A change of scenery might do him some good and I would much rather have him on the squad than Redden.

Why does everybody love this guy, 'cause he's big? He's only a little bigger than Orr, just about as skilled, and a much worse fighter.

I think St.Louis would be perfect if we can get them to take Roszival. I like that Rosi is putting his game together but St.Louis is making 4 mil per until 10/11 I believe. Plus throw in a few more players for bait. We now have a goal scorer on the rw who we can put right next to Gomez. Those would be two real solid lines. Then we get to save a mil in cap space. There is also Prospal who's at 3.5 mil per.

The only problem is then we would need another defense-man. Potter? IDK.

As far as Art goes. If the trade is right I would do it. Look at Voros. His best year in the NHl was 7 goals with the Wild. He's got that now with the Rangers. Put him back on that Playstation line he probably scores some more. I like just the fore checking and puck protection we can get from a guy like Art.

The article just mentioned St.Louis waiving his no trade clause. IMO, they would probably do the same thing with all of the ntc players if they can get a juicy deal they like.

I really think the "playstation line" thing was a fluke. It's pretty clear that Voros isn't skilled enough to play with Dubinsky and Zherdev. Also, I doubt we will see it again since Naslund just had his best game playing with the two.

Also, Artyukhin is not the answer to this teams problems. Some people here just want him because he's big and fast. Out team is fast enough already. We need someone that knows how to put pucks in the net. Atyukhin has 5 goals in 90 games

We had a good discussion about St Louis about a month ago. He had his own thread.

His contract is pretty good and he definitely knows how to score. He also can play ALL situations

He would be very welcomed on the NY Rangers imo. He's not a kid but he does know how to score goals, he's pretty fast and he'd provide some Bona Fide scoring threat

The question is what do you have to give up for him?

The consensus was that Tampa could probably get a better deal from another team.
