I can live with Kovalev doing what he does in the offensive zone if it doesn't produce anything fruitful, as long as he doesn't tunr it over and as long as Andrei isn't suffering from it on his line.
Kovalev just keeps turning the puck over and there isn't enough desire in any of the three zones to make me forgive that.
On the plus side, Andrei was a beast. I hope, hope we see him on the PP point more often, his shots were bombs, Lydman blocked everything and Lalime made two huge stops. Lang should not be there anymore.
Happy with D'Ago and Lats. Both went to the front of the net tonight. D'ago was good on the boards, solid in his own end, deserves to stay up for a bit longer.
For all those people who think that Kovalev played a bad game tonight:
His number is 27. He's the guy who made plays, shot heavy shots that were potential goals and was a good presence on both sides of the rink.
Just you wait... Kovalev is going to lead in points this year for the Montreal Canadiens. Just you wait...
AK46 was fun to watch tonight. Maybe we will see more of him on the point. I still drool over the thought of him playing with Koivu and Tanguay though. Lang should be in front of the net on the 5 on 3 not koivu.

Agreed about Lats, I'm not giving up on this kid, if he keeps going to the net and putting his big ass in front, good things will happen. Hell he might develop a nose for the net one day, who knows.

Don't get me wrong, I think Andrei should be on the point but they were so f'ing predictable. Maybe that's why most of his shots were blocked. The Sabres saw it coming. The just passed it to Andrei and he let it rip. They gotta do something other than that.
I liked what I saw from Latendresse tonight, he was throwing his weight around whenever he had the chance and he was also getting to the front of the net.

That will take some time and practice. But just the fact that we now have someone back there with a shot that will intimidate, has got my hopes up on our PP improving.
Last season we were known as one of the best and fastest passing teams in the NHL, Streit didn't take all of that with him... Where the hell has it gone? Especially on the PP, taking way too much time instead of quick puck movement and movement in general. Unsuccessful 5-on-3 but finally A-Kost got a shot playing the point and he was firing back there. Why did it take Carbo so long to try this? WHY did it take Carbo SO LONG to try A-Kost and Koivu together? They were wicked together 4-on-4, if this doesn't tweak even Carbo's interest for a line when Tanguay comes back.......
Bouchard should double up, intermission analysis and colour. plzzzzzz
Why the hell was Koivu sitting in front of the net on the 5 v 3??
1) He's small
2) He's the best passer up front
Much rather him on the RW being the pivot than Kovalev. All Kovalev does is his stupid outside face off circle shot which hasn't worked once this year (SO PREDICTABLE NOW). Kovalev has 4 inches and 40 lbs, is strong on skates and has good hands, he should be in front of net muscling Dmen and re-directing pucks.
Why was Komisarek behind the bench anyway, and was there another unfamiliar face there tonight? After RDS showed Komisarek they showed a face-shot of someone else behind the bench and I couldn't figure out who it was.

It was Reland Melanson methinks. Doug was out for family issues.

It was Melanson. In fact it was Melanson's idea to have Komo behind the bench.
Didn't get to see the game but from the Highlights we had a lot of chances 1st period, capitalized on them in the 2nd and slowed down in the 3rd. Seems like a normal Habs game except we won .
Sergei Kostitsyn is too emotional and gets mad TOO easily, i dont mind to see him play aggresive but he had to stay smart. He gets easily provoked and take dump penalties.
Andrei Kostitsyn should play with Koivu for the rest of the season and he had to play on the point on PP.
Komisarek behind the bench was awesome.
Price is playing great lately and his stats are showing it.
