Tomas Kaberle

Leafs will probably trade him sooner or later, a good puck moving d-man and can easily get 60 points. whats he worth?

Well maybe he is, Philly has Gange, Briere, Richards and Carter. They need better Defence. So which forward can they trade for a good D? Well any of those 4 but briere from his contract most likely. Richards is the captin so probobly not him. So either him or Cater...

If I'm the Leafs I'm not dealing him for anything less then a young top 6 forward (preferrably Center), maybe someone around the age of 23-26, and a 1st Rounder in 2009 or 2010.

Anything less and he's better off keeping unitl his UFA year.

It'd be foolish on Burke's part to trade him for anything less then a youn top 6 guy that's still developing, a very good prospect and a first rounder around 15-25.

Calgary offers a 2010 first round pick, a slumping Burke favorite (who only got moved for cap reasons) Todd Bertuzzi who is signed to a much better contract now.

Toronto quickly declines Calgary without a second thought.

I'd have taken Gagne for Kaberle straight up last year as well.

Right now I think I'll trade Kaberle and a 2nd for Gagne.

change the 2010 pick to second rounder, and a 09 first and instead bertuzzi, we want a young prospect with top 6 potential

The Leafs actually are in no rush to trade him, especially since he has a no-trade clause. This isn't new news.

Value of Kaberle:
Decent top 9 forward
Decent prospect
1st round pick

Toronto:
Cammalleri
2010 Calgary 1rst round draft pick

Calgary:
Kaberle

He will get a similar deal that Boyle got, if we're lucky. His play has been slipping lately and if it continues we won't get a Boyle type deal for him. A decent prospect, a 1st and a roster player isn't out of the question at this point

I dont see why Toronto should not add a forward of Gagne's abilities even if a rebuild is on the way. Gagne is still younger than Kaberle. Both are amazing players but with Toronto having depth on the blueline I think it'll be a step in the right direction. Gagne is a legit first line forward who'll also become Toronto's best defensive forward, save from maybe Hagman.
