Zherdev - Dubinsky - Jagr would become the best line in the league.

Jagr-Dubinsky-Anyone would be the best line on the team.

Too bad it's not going to happen though.

Sure the $$ is great in Omsk but the older you get, the closer to the end of a career, other things are more important. Happiness is the balanced life.
Jagr didn't go to Omsk for the money, he went to because he enjoys it there.

Yeah, in that interview he did a couple of weeks back for the New York Times Sport magazine it seemed like he was pretty satisfied with where he is.

And yes, she does miss NYC, you can't compare Omsk to NYC.
On the other hand, Jagr said that NYC is great city and all, but is enjoying Omsk as well. City is no issue for JJ, maybe a bit for his GF.

Not sure what is so funny. Zherdev is a right handed shot....I think he'd benefit greatly from playing on the left side b/c of that. Just like Jagr or Hossa, who play their off wing, players who do so have more options when carrying the puck, especially when they move to the slot off the rush.

Most scoring wingers play their off-wing.

JJ hate changes, he wanted long term cotract, and Slats offered only one year.

I think there is very small chance Jagr coming back to NHL.
Omsk would have to tank in KHL, and Jagr would have to suck - then there is a chance.
But who would want JJ if he is not playing well?
Zero chance this year, because he would need to pass the waivers(which he wouldn't).
And less than zero chance that he would play for Devils, this speculation is pure crap.
JJ is done in NHL imo, but line of Zherdev - Dubi - Jagr....hmmm tempting

It's a pipe dream for him to return yes but would I want it? Hell yes.

He has unfinished business with the Rangers, a story that isn't complete as far as I'm concerned.

He has unfinished business with Dubinsky, there's some more tricks in the bag for him to pass on.

He has new business to start with Zherdev.

I was an advocate of moving on and letting Jagr go. I'll admit though that the thought of bringing him back intrigues me.

It won't happen, IMO, but it's an interesting thought.

How quickly people forget.

This team stunk at scoring and stunk on the power play WITH Jagr here.

Last season it was bring back Nylander.

This season it's bring back Jagr????? Are you guys serious.

No thanks. Jagr decided to wake up late last season when a contract was up for grabs. He was as much of a captain as James Patrick was, only Patrick never wore the "C".

And if Jagr is going anywhere, he is going to Pittsburgh where he will be guaranteed to pile up points. Why would he go to the isles or Devils where he would score zilch?

your making it seem like a powerplay all of a sudden become good with 1 person its not jagr's fault pearn is somehow a PK genius but a pathetic PP coach.

the main problem is that Jagr might not see the money he is signed to receive in Russia. If that is the case he might be more financially strapped than most would believe possible. you cannot imagine him suing his employer or sponsor at the local courts.

So - he may not be in the position to let love come into it. He may need the most money he can get and if he gets it in NYR great if not he will love whoever pays him.

In russia the party is over......pretty much.

The fact that Avantgard lost 6 of 7.....oops 7 of last 8 matches - is not boding well..

Folks who are only reading the thread title and responding....

Here's were this ridiculous rumor got its start:

Shaky times for Russia's Kontinental Hockey League, reportedly due to the steep fall in the worldwide price of oil. Russian clubs have been known to pull guys out of the lineup and not honor deals (ex-Bruin Byron Dafoe learned the hard way). If it came down to Jaromir Jagr (now of Omsk Avangard) wanting back to the metro New York area, only the Devils would have the cap room for him.
http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_r...il?eref=fromSI

Yes, there are clubs in the KHL that are in financial trouble. But Avangard Omsk is not one of them. The team is sponsored largely by the Omsk regional government. There have been rumors that they wouldn't get as much government funding next season (because the current governor may be on his way out) but Roman Abramovich (you may have heard of him) said last week that he would finance the team going forward. So Jagr doesn't have to worry about not getting his pay check.
It's merely been misinterpreted and/or sensationalized by a pseudo-media outlet. Jagr is not looking to leave the KHL, nor is his contract in danger of not being honored.

I'd change the thread title, but the story isn't even Ranger related. I wouldn't even know what to call this thread based on the facts. "Byron Dafoe's KHL contract revoked"?

Turcotte...

Forgetting salary caps for a moment, this team is better with Jagr on its right side than with Drury on its right side. PP? That's a function of coaching at this point. It was painfully obviously that with Jagr on the PP, Dubi was not the right centerman. He didn't move around enough nor did he handle the puck enough (a la Nylander). Why Gomez and Jagr were not on the PP together still blows my mind (although the reasoning is balance, and Renney's goal of achieving balance is exactly why this team struggles to score).

I can't see how lines that would look like:

Voros-Dubi-Jagr
Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev
Korps-Drury-Callahan

Do not look better than today - Jagr would come in for Fritsche.
