Best Place to Watch a Game?

I'm a Sharks' fan that lives in Ottawa so I thought I'd come here for suggestions on where I can go out to watch a game. If this is out of line in anyway I apologize.

I'm planning on going out tomorrow night with some friends to watch the Leafs/Sharks game. I live in Sandy Hill and the bar needs to be walking distance, so, something in the Market would work. Reasonably priced beer also factors into my decision. Any places with deals on Tuesday night? I think that's about it...

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Oh, and if any other Sharks' fans who live in Ottawa happen to see this thread send me a message.

Thanks.

Possibly Pub 101, York St. at Dalhousie.

I think they have ridiculously cheap wings tomorrow night as well.

Does pub 101 have CI though?

Don Cherry's is near you (Rideau and King Ed.) and the Oak has CI i believe, (Laurier and King Ed.) no deals that i know of.

Clocktower on Beechwood has CI and 2.75 pints on Tuesday.

Fixed.

Most of the bars downtown have CI. You could also try the bar inside the Ottawa U arena - it's upstairs. You can watch really crappy hockey between rec leaguers at the same time.

Pub 101 was under renovations this past weekend. I nearly cried when I saw it, I love that place. I'm not sure how long those renovations are lasting, but you should call first to see if they're open. If they are, it's a great place, with all you can eat wings on mondays, I believe. Any day of the week they're 7.99 and they're stellar. Beer's also 3.50 a pint.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I think we'll probably go to Don Cherry's. I completely forgot about that place. They have a huge screen and I know for sure they have CI. Plus, it's really close to my place so the drunken walk home won't take forever.

There's an ad on the Team 1200 where the guy is talking and they keep interjecting "Johnny Canuck's". I couldn't resist.

I made sure to name a place in Sandy Hill, because yeah, he obviously wouldn't make that trek.

I really do like Johnny Canuck's though. My brother and a couple buddies moved into a place close to there and they have a really good setup. And very cheap, and awesome, wings.

I get that a lot.

My dad made me pick a team when I was a kid and, not really being that into hockey, I picked the Sharks because they had the best logo, I started getting more into hockey and even though they sucked I didn't have the heart to abandon them and pick a new team. I've always got a lot of flak but they have iced good teams for a while now. Hopefully this year they go all the way!

I hate pub 101 personally. For games, I like Marshys....especially for away games...all you can eat wings. But, its the best hockey atmosphere of any bar in Ottawa IMO. EVERYONE is there to watch the game, and there are tons of different things to do at intermission (pool, bubble hockey, air hockey, etc).

Hah! Yes, but not exactly the game I'm looking for. I haven't ventured over the river since first year!

As of last night, Pub 101 is still under renovation.. I pass it every day on my walk home from work. That's usually where I head to if I'm going to watch a game since I live in the market.. but that's for Sens games! I don't think a Sharks game would have quite the same turnout (assuming you're into girls and/or fans of your team), and you'd probably have to ask to have it put on. There are some nice sports bars on Elgin St., but I'm too lazy to go out that far.

It's a Leafs vs Sharks game....I think there will be a turnout.

Not tonight, since it's still under renovation. Besides, I was talking about Pub 101 in general for just about any typical Sharks game. It's pretty rare they play a team like Toronto. But then again, since most west games start at 10-10:30pm EST there would be a turn out.. but how many will be there for the game as opposed to simply being there to drink is anyone's guess! Hope you find a good bar that suits your needs.
