The Koivu line is fantastic.

Interesting stat about Andrei, 6 games off the Kovalev line this year, 6 points!

I tried that (not the closet thing) but intentionally leaving the room. They don't score every time I'm not there, it's that I'm not there every time they score. I'm just bad luck. I've gone to see the Habs play live 3 times in my life. They were outscored by a combined 15-3.

AK and Koivu look like magic together....and if D'ago can keep driving to the net, this line has some serious potential.

I think they need someone who is more creative like tanguay rather than dags but hey he is better than tender and serge k

AK looks like magic anytime he is away from Kovalev, when he is with Kovalev he defers to him waaaaaaay too much IMO.

Great period!

Kovy's been playing well tonight, and the whole team's been cycling the puck much better (especially the koivu line) I like how D'agostini went to the net and I like how kostitsyn looks dangerous.

And kovalchuk shares the **** out of me also.

For the most part, his work ethic is fine. There are times when he goes to sleep in the defensive zone and sometimes he goes through patches where his play could use a kick up the rear, but for the most part, I don't have a problem with how hard he works. Most people probably know by now how awful his start to last year was, that was part effort, part playing through injury and he got some deserved stick for it. But he deserves credit for his end of season performance when half the Dogs roster gave up (perhaps wondering what to do the following season) but Matt was one of the ones who kept on playing. And he learned from his mistakes last season going into the start of this year. Last year when he was sent down, he got a bit grumpy and off his game, this year, well, look at his start: was 2nd in AHL scoring at one point I think, leads the Dogs in scoring, gives a good effort and has got a shot in the NHL.

His work rate over the start of this season has been good and I expect that to continue whether he sticks in the NHL or gets sent back down when people are healthy/pick up their games - he seems to have learned that lesson. For this year, I wouldn't worry but it will be interesting to see how he handles next year. Should be fine though, although he will have a learning curve to follow so it'll be important for some folks to remember the difference between production and effort.

Aw great, Pierre praising our former prospect Hollywood Hainsey on that play. Oh well, he deserves it. Would he be top 4 on today's team? Probably not, but he'd make our 3rd pairing solid and he's a decent QB on the PP.

Hollywood to the box. We need to cash on some PPs. If it was even just top 10 we would have a few more victories this year for sure and our offense wouldn't look so middling.
