Yes, Hartnell's other one.

Upshall's hit deserved a penalty. I'm surprised it was five and a game; definitely should have been two minutes.

Briere left the game early. he only played nine minutes.

Crazy finish to the game! I'm glad at least a few people commented on Sbisa's poor puck/clock management that led to probably the dumbest thing I've seen in hockey since Nitty was caught looking at the jumbotron. Hartnell is retarded, but that incident doesn't happen if Sbisa makes the smart play and dumps the puck in the corner. I did like the way he redeemed himself in overtime by easing Malone into Biron for the interference penalty, though.

Someone seriously needs to make Jeff Carter a better faceoff guy. Shortly before Downie's tying goal, the Lightning had the Flyers pinned with several prime scoring chances all because Jeff couldn't win a draw in the defensive zone. He's my favourite Flyer, but his lameness in the faceoff circle really pisses me off.

Marty Biron needs to stop playing the puck. Aside from almost gifting Lecavalier an easy tap in, he's awkward 100% of the time he plays the puck. Please, just stop.

Kimmo Timonen is the ****ing man! That pass he made to Richards for the winner was unreal.

Oh, why did Briere dress tonight? Let him come back when he's 100% for ****'s sakes. Sucks about Carle too. Hope that isn't too serious.

I would have died laughing if that happened.

Just remembered I was about to comment on that until Downie scored as I was posting. Even though TB had them chasing around all over the place, I gotta say the chasing looked alright.

All in all they played a fairly aggresive game.

Interesting thing about this game: For Tampa only players who used to be Flyers scored goals: Recchi, Downie and Prospal.

What a game. I thought Downie might wind up scoring.

A couple odd plays by Marty, as well as a few big saves.

All and all a nice win (from the 15 minutes I watched)

How do we know Scotty didn't take an intuitive and analytical approach to the breakaway, saw that Malone had Gaston beaten and then took the immediate action of preserving the tie by tossing his glove, therefore, giving Marty time to reposition himself for a penalty shot which, again, Hartnell had the prescience that Biron would stop.

Just got back from the game. How about Hartnell throwing his damn glove...God dammit.

Good win though, Cannon FTW!

i figured it wouldn't be a serious hit since there wasn't a peep about it on the main board. i have no idea why briere even thought about playing. he needs to sit for a very long time. I know he says he will play when he is 100% but he always says that.

Hartnell knew the play would get replayed a million times, leading to even more exposure of the new orange jerseys.

Flyers sign Hartnell to extension?

It was a boneheaded play, but since he missed both the shot and the penalty shot, and we won, it's good to laugh at.

Timonen = hockey god...

From Richards:

"Kimmo and I had talked a little bit before the game just about special teams, and what we wanted to do, and he actually drew that play up for a five-on-three. Five-on-four was kind of the same thing. Bring the attention to him, then some guy took Gagne backdoor, and I just walked into it, and he made a great pass, and I shot as hard as I can.”

That's amazing -- I knew Timonen was good before he came to Philadephia, but I had no idea he was this good.

Carle's injury is a sore back according to Timmah.

Tim P. also says:
Quote:
Flyers center Danny Briere was back in the lineup after missing nine games with a groin pull but he did not seem very effective, nor did he have any jump in his skates. Briere left the Flyers bench late in the second period. It is believed he re-injured himself given that the Flyers were planning an announcement after the game.

Richards, regarding "the glove" (with a smile on his face and reporters laughing):

Quote:
I don't know what he was thinking...I...I...I'm speechless
Also, Stevens basically said Upshall's major was warranted. Seriously, we're back to this? Stand up for the guy you *****.
