Stillman Will Play In Vancouver

Big news today is that Cory Stillman will make his return tomorrow against the Canucks. Stillman has been out for more than a month with post-concussion symptoms. Stillman was hurt Nov. 2 in Atlanta and returned against Detroit two weeks later only to be faced with some setbacks. Pete DeBoer says JM is going to decide who leaves town and heads back to Rochester. When I know, you'll know.

PDeB says he's not going to rush Stillman, and says "we know he's been out a long time,'' and that "we don't expect him to play 19, 20 minutes tomorrow.'' Stillman will probably be on the one of the lower two lines to start, with PDeB saying he'll be part of the power play from the start.

Good. Lets work our guys in slow. I cant wait to see what this team looks like when we are as healthy as we can be. And Im very interested to see how Horton plays, because I am one of the few who think he will come back and play just like the team is now.

Repik is playing well, send Glass down. He hustles but we have Matthias, Stewart and Tarnasky doing his job. He can be spared. It's nice to have Stillman coming back, he'll help the PP out quite a bit.

With that said:

Weak.

updated site: it's tanner glass...also, panthers get early ice tomorrow with canucks wanting late ice since they're playing in edmonton tonight...teams usually like getting done with the skate early...don't know if that means anything, just thought I'd throw it out there (and last time panthers got early ice on road was washington last week)....

Repik's going to be a good NHL player IMO. He's small unfortunately, and looks small on the ice, but he has a lot of speed, he hustles, and he's a good passer. I don't think he's quite ready for the NHL yet as he's a bit raw, but he's definitely shown some flashes in the games he's been in. Matthias has played decently well but I expected a bit more. In all fairness he hasn't played a lot and his linemates haven't been great, but I don't think he should be in the NHL yet as a regular. He works hard, is big, and makes things happen from time to time, but I expect both to be sent down when we get everyone back.

I think Horton can fit in. I think he would really flourish if he accepted a more defined role on the team. As the season started he seemed as if he was trying to create too much for himself, and those kind of one on one plays take a lot of speed and skill to pull off; he's not really Olli and can't get those shots off quick enough. I'd like to see him bring his physical play, and be more like the player the cats originally drafted instead of Eric Staal. He could be a beast if he kept his play simple and just focused on going to the net, and working on his offense without the puck: waiting for passes in good scoring spots, setting screens, and positioning himself for good rebounds.

Stillman isnt going to get top line minutes right off the bat, and i believe that was stated by GR. I dont see the Kreps/Weiss/Frolik and CPR lines change until Horton and Booth get back. Stillman will start off on the 3rd or 4th line, and like GR said, get 1st line PP time.

This is his chance. You have to be deaf, blind, and stupid not to see how this team is playing on the ice, and if he had any type of compassion for his teammates and organization, he will play just as hard. This could be exactly what we needed for him to get his @ss in motion.

Funny thing, I would have said THE EXACT same thing about Frolik about 15 games ago.

It'd be a classy move if the Panthers keep Repik up and dress him against the Canucks considering he played his junior hockey in Vancouver. I know he'd have more than a few Giants fans cheering for him even against the Canucks - he was simply awesome in the Memorial Cup run.

Looks like he'll be playing as Glass was sent down and seems only Stillman is coming back.

I would rather have sent Glass down too and happy he was. I figured Repik because I thought Stillman would replace a similar type player.

I understand, but leaving Repik up and bringing in Stillman helps our offense a lot more than keeping glass up and stillman in.

Glad to see Cory come back, even if it's in a limited role for a bit.

I'd like to see Stillman on a line with Repik. I think they could have some good chemistry.

Yeah they could. Repik likes to crash the net ala David Booth.
