Houston NHL TEAM?

How long will it take the NHL to realize houston can work as a hockey market because their AHL team is doing great in attendance, and there are many Canadians in Houston. Also, the 4th largest city in the US cant do worse than Nashville or Columbus, and we already have a arena that we can share with the houston rockets, that can accomodate 17 000 fans.

A cool name would be Houston Cowboys, Heat,

Houston Heat vs Dallas Stars coming soon to the American Airlines arena!

Don't expect it to happen soon.

If the NHL expands or relocates a franchise, they'll go to Canada first, Las Vegas second and KC third. While Houston might be a viable market, the NHL won't move or expand by four, possibly five, teams to get Houston in on the action.

And I think you mean the Houston Humidity would be an appropriate name.

Dallas playing the heat at AAA, brings up bad memories. granite different teams sports and places. We play in the AAC though.

I think after that one guy failed at getting the oilers 15 years ago--I think Houston business people with the money would shy away from the nhl. That guy ended up feeling used by the nhl. As a oiler fan it was hard to feal sorry for him, but I think it was done to put a gun to the city of edmonton's head and their fans to wake them up

That would be Les Alexander, owner of Houston Rockets. He tried to get Oilers to Houston, I think. And he met with Lemieux and pens about possibly moving to Houston.

At this point, Houston has everything NHL would look for when expanding. Owner (check), new or modern arena suitable for hockey (check) and massive metro population (check). Only if they expanded...
