Jones should return before Christmas, while Parent has the goal of being fully healthy by December 26.

Danny Briere, also battling injury, took to the ice again Tuesday and travelled with the team on its charter flight to Raleigh, North Carolina. It seems unlikely Briere will play Wednesday night against the Hurricanes (7:00 p.m., CN8), but his condition has improved nonetheless, he said.
I guess Kukks is back riding the pine after Jones returns. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Parent get his legs back in the A, especially if the team is performing well around Christmas still.

Kukks is seeing plenty of the press box now.
Timonen
Coburn
Vaananen
Carle
Sbisa (sent to Lethbridge when Jones comes back)
Alberts

Kukks is already riding the pine. I'd have to guess Alberts will get the scratch once Jones is ready. The only thing I don't like about that is that it leaves us loaded with puckmovers, and takes away from our more physical, stay-at-home types...the only one really left being Vaananen.
Alberts has been good lately, and Sbisa has struggled some lately...if we see more of that in the next month...then who knows, they may have to decide to go ahead and send Sbisa back to juniors and leave Alberts in the lineup.
He played last year didn't do to well. Switzerland got relegated for the first time in years and some pointed to Sbisa's play as just one reason why, amongst others. Switzerland saw it coming though, which is why they gave up the rights to next year's tournament before last year's tournament.
Since Switzerland was relegated, they won't or should they send him to the WJC's. It's really not worth it.
As much as they should, they also won't send him about to Lethbridge. The fact that he played last night instead of Kukkonen was a joke, he clearly needs the game off. What I said would happen, has been happening for quite a few games now, but they won't acknowledge it to themselves until the team starts losing a few games. I really don't understand it, like I keep saying, I'm no scout or expert of anything, but if it's clearly obvious to me, and I know I'm not the only one, I don't understand why the team doesn't see it. No one in the media even asks them about it.
You think so? I don't think he'll last the full season; he's already wearing out.
He can't go to the Phantoms. As long as they send him back before 40-something games played, they won't burn a year of restricted free agency.
Really? I didn't know this was the case and I thought after only 9 games he would lost a year on his contract and would be closer to UFA. If this is the case I send him back as soon as Jones is back so that we don't kill his development.
They can just send him back. He still loses a year off his contract, which means he still loses a year towards UFA status because it's still a year of service. It's basically an out-clause for teams who realized they ****ed up.

Even at his young age, he's a better player than Kukkonen.

I'm going to look it up to clarify for myself now, but I was under the impression that he would earn a year off his rookie contract, but he wouldn't be any closer to UFA status, if he played 10-40ish games. Only if he played more than 40ish games would he be closer to UFA. I could be very wrong; so, I'll look it up.

It's not that he isn't better than Kukkonen, its that for one game Sbisa can have a seat. Even if Sbisa was sent back when Jones and Parent are ready, Kukkonen is gone or in the press box anyways. Sbisa's presence on the roster should have nothing to do with Kukkonen, and I don't think it does.
However, over the past few games, Alberts and Kukkonen have been amongst the steadiest pairings we've had all season. Same thing happened with Randy Jones, and it even happened with Jaroslav Modry. We can argue how good Kukkonen is, doesn't change that he is a 6-7 d-man. However, there is a clear trend that the lower pairing defensemen seem to play their best with Kukkonen. If that's something Stevens chooses to ignore, well, that's on him. The fact that Holmgren somehow kept Kukkonen on the team after all this time, going back to last season, must be some kind of indictment that he sees this differently.

Alright, I can't find anything in the CBA to substantiate my original claim. I swear I read that in the CBA, but I must just be insane.
I'll edit the original post so I don't confuse anyone else.
This is what I found on IB's site, but it's off of a tidbit for Group V free agency, but it defines an 'accrued season'
