How has Radim Vrbata done this year for the Bolts? I thought he was one of the players the B's should have looked at in free agency last summer, so just curious.

Radim Vrbata....hmmm how much is he making? if hes in the dog house and boston felt like making a deal. some combination of axelsson and insert mid tier prospect. i dont care about making a trade but i know some people are all about deal from a position of strength so i thought id throw his name out there. hed look good along side bergeron i think. his stats arent great. 6 points so far but he is even on a team full of minus players.

scouting report on him. http://www2.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/.../Radim_Vrbata/
hes not making too much either. might be a good guy to take a shot at if the price is right.

Here we go..offer up Axe and a prospect for a guy who is not performing well. Why do we do this....

He got signed through a couple of seasons as well, I thought. What a waste of cash.

I do remember a lot of people wanting to spend big bucks on him though. And I remember when Tampa ended up being the sucker team to do it, it was one of those deals that people thought would put the Lightning on the map this season.

Here's some food for thought. Who would you rather have on your team: Brad Richards OR Vrbata & Malone?

Ouch.

$3 million/season for the next three years isn't making much??
For a borderline healthy scratch?

Even if Vrbata's and Axelsson's salaries were reversed, I'd still take Axey over him.

Every person behind the Lightning bench has ties with the Bruins. That's some crazy stuff.

Here goes: Rick Tochett, head coach - former player. Wes Walz, assistant coach - former player. Mike Sullivan, associate coach- former coach. Cap Raeder, goaltending coach - former assistant coach.

I think that's one hell of a coaching staff too.

Too bad their GM is none too bright, because they could have a good club there with those guys leading the way.

I think Rick Tocchet could be a helluvan NHL coach.

How does this make sense. Vrbata isn't good enough/doesn't work hard enough to play for a non-playoff team in Tampa and you think he'll be a good fit here???

maybe i missed something. that site shows his Salary: $1,225,000. but i didnt do any further research maybe that salary is incorrect. if its three mill per year thats a different story. 1.225 isnt bad though.

Yeah, I think it's out of date.

I'm not sure, but I believe he signed a 3 year, $9 million contract this off-season with the Bolts... Like Ryan Malone's deal, I shook my head. People looked at Ryder's contract as being over-payment (it was, but PC was a whipping boy in the media for that deal), but it's nothing compared to some of the dead-weight money that was thrown around for other guys this season. At least Ryder had a couple of 30 goal seasons under his belt.
