TO released...

If Romo and Garrett do not start off hot this upcoming season, it will get ugly.

The move cost the Cowboys cap space.

2009 Cap Hit = $8.995 million

Remaining Signing Bonus (New 2009 Cap Hit) = $9.675 million

Dallas just ate up $680,000 of their cap space. They do avoid paying him a $3.1 million roster bonus in June, but that was already a factor of his original 2009 cap hit.

well okay I guess, I hope Roy Williams is up to the task. If this gets us closer to a superbowl I'm happy then.

There can only be one Roy Williams.

Cowboys finally cut Roy Williams (safety) today. This adds a little over $2 million to the cap.

Hopefully Mike Jenkins is half as intelligent as this guy:

Quote:
"It was as a shock to me," Scandrick said. "But obviously we know that our owner is serious about getting things together and it sends a message to a team that there's no tolerance. You're either going to get on board or you're not going to be here.

"That's how I look at it. No one's untouchable."

To me that sounds like a great message, if the younger players read it as such. Still, Scandrick sounded as if T.O. will be missed. At least by him, anyway.

"He was a popular among me," Scandrick said. "That's a guy I grew up watching. I looked up to him, because he's a great player. He had a great NFL career. It's not over, but his legacy is great. I feel he was vital to our team, but I don't think one person makes the team."

That doesn't make sense, but the NFL cap is screwy anyways. If so, that calls into question even more JJ's claim Owens was cut due to 'age and declining production.' We all know the reason he was cut, and it has everything to do with a monster contract handed out to one player Owens didn't get along with, though cried about at one point.

Either way, good riddance. I never wanted him on the team to begin with.

With the NFL, his actual salary doesn't matter. In most cases, the remainder of the signing bones becomes the cap hit, but I know I've seen times that teams can spread the cap hit over a 2nd year. I don't when they can do that though.

You sure aren't helping out with that

Ellis speaks with experience. He's been *****ing about one thing or another for half a decade. That's can't help the room out, can it?

Ellis is a philosopher trapped in a backup DE's body. Have some sympathy!

If that dumb **** Anthony Spencer didn't get arrested. Ellis would be on the chopping block.

Jerry wants to bring in the wildcat formation, I am not sold it will work that well in the NFL. Miami used it very efficiently against NE last season. I would be willing to give it a short try. I however don't want it to effect who we draft like there have been hints to. We have Stanback who presumably could used in those situations.

I don't put any credibility in that. Not after Jerry's been making all this effort to "clean up" the team.

Also agree that drafting based on a passing offensive fad would be a waste. Stanback's also a waste, but at least you could squeeze some value out of him this way.

I would just like to say, **** Andruw Jones.
He's going to be a significant drag on this team.

Jones will probably suck. But Cat isnt worth keeping either. Boggs would have been my choice. He is a gutsy guy who will go all out. Seemed to come up big when given the chance as well.... Of course, he is not as talented as either of the other options.

I personally am just amazed they took Gabbard off the 40-man roster. I mean I know he is hurt all the time but at least he has pitched a few decent games in between.

I just hope they can contend this year. I am fine with missing the playoffs as long as we show improvement.

I still have no clue what they are going to do with Arias. Guy can hit and is a good fielder. I am a huge Kinsler fan and would not like to see him out of the lineup but if you could find another place for his bat, I would like to see Arias at 2nd. Read on the website the Reds want him... I hope they dont trade him though. I would doubt his value is very high right now.
