i think our entire defense needs to work on shooting the puck, especially one timers; they flubbed every one-timer tonight, i think. and what has happened to Coburn's shot? ...he had a really fine one-timer last season.... we could probably add a few forwards to the drill, too, like Nodl, Lupul, Hartnell and Carter (he never shoots one timers, so he should participate in the drill)

OMG, that anthem singer in SJ was just horrid. Even worse, she had no clue, she was fist pumping and extending her arms all over like she was Celine Dion. Ugh.

Niitty was excellent. I have no doubt we lose this game with Biron in net, probably 3 or 4 to 1.

The Star Spangled Banner can make even good singers look stupid.

But yeah, she was awful.

35 saves in 36 shots. The only goal that went by him was uncatchable for anybody without a rocket up his ass. Also made some exceptional ones and stayed sharp throughout the game.

I would like to see him keep the job for now.

I saw Carter's goal. It's not often a goal is scored right off of a face off by the center. No wonder it seemed to catch Leighton off guard.

Lets see if Nitty starts the next game.

Nitty was solid tonight, made all the saves he should have made and had a couple very nice saves as well. Right now that's what we need out of our goaltenders. Overall I think we've played better team defense this year than we did last year.

It's amazing how Carter can have a terrible game and be the hero all at once.

i think his being the leading scorer in the NHL helps in that regard, even when he has an otherwise bad game... lol

Dude you should live here and see what they say about McNabb and half of the Phillies. The Phillies won this town's first championship in 25 years and people complained on the radio for three days about how Chase Utley dropped an f-bomb and how classless he is. The same guy who played half the season with a torn up hip and never complained or make excuses. Of course I'm not talking about people on here, but that's Philadelphia.

Listen, I'm all for them winning this game. But, i'm kind of sick and tired of going to OT. Can we ever finish what we start?

To be fair, McNabb has deserved most of the criticism the past 3-4 years.

thats why i can only listen to 610 for so long.

people piss me off.

i could go on all day about mcnabb and how much crap he gets and for no reason. i'll reserve that for the eagles thread.

The problem the Flyers have with close games is that they're all close. The Flyers have had FIVE games this season be decided by three or more goals. You say you always want to play 60 minutes, but the Flyers need some games where they're over after the second period just to take the mental edge off. That takes a toll on teams who have to fight tooth and nail every single night and eventually they will hit the wall again.

to be fair, maybe if FF didnt throw call 50 passing plays a game and become utterly predictable while refusing to run the ball and then the eagles still were average....

then yes maybe he would deserve most of it.

but FF doesnt learn. throws it 50 times a game and everyone sitting at home can call the plays and so can opposing defenses.
