Trade deadline action?

If things still look good for the Flames come February then should the Flames make an attempt to pick up a UFA from a struggling team?

Id say a good veteran Dman would be a much needed pick to push the team in the post-season. Bring in someone like Zubov, Numminen, Sydor or Leopold.

I dunno, that move picking up Brad Stuart a couple of years ago is looking downright brutal right now. If the flames aren't in contention for the division crown and are facing a first round date with Detroit or San Jose again I would rather see them move UFAs like Cammalleri for good young players for years down the road.

If they are in the upper half of the playoff table I could stomach a prospect or two going for depth D-men.

I would hate to loose Cammaleri, I think he is proving to be good for Calgary and I hope they keep him around for another few years.

If Ottawa is not in the playoff race I would like to see Sutter make a deal for Kuba and McAmmond at the deadline... they would be a little more than depth players but wouldn't cost us the farm

If we can't sign Cammalleri, I'd like to see more scoring to be honest. I think our defense can do better, but we don't have much scoring up front at all.

Don't know where that comes from.

Flames are on pace to have:
2 30+ goal scorers
4 20+ goal scorers
are 9th in the league for goals per game
Everyone in the top 9 is either on pace or close to double digit scoring years.

I'd say thats alot of goal scoring up front actually. None of those figures include dman.

Only thing I'd like to see come trade deadeline day, is depth and it would be ideal to get a Gio like dman ie. a good puck mover who could play a 4-6 style role.

leopold would be a good one to go for

although the overpayment to avs for an interdivision trade to get him back would be a bit iffy
