-6 in his last 2 games, never scores goals, is 65th in the NHL in assists...

No goals, no assists, no defense, and he gets more ice time than any other forward in the 3rd (so it seems)

What a great signing, man, awesome.

What does he do? Sucks up loads of ice time, turns the puck over, and gets passes from the fans in terms of his play.

people need to wake up. Stop looking at the stats and our record. There are some major flaws with this team. Were going to be dead last in scoring pretty soon. Something needs to happen.

a few game sample size does not turn Gomez into a bust signing. he was an asset the last two seasons and was great before he injured his ankle. give the guy a break and stop being so simple minded.

You don't realize his worth to the team as far as taking the blue line and getting the puck into the zone on the PP until hes gone.

He also doesn't get injured very much, always keeps his head up. Gomez never really "puts up the points" but that doesn't mean he is worthless by any means.

When he was with Jersey what bothered me the most was how often he would shoot high/wide when he had open nets. Other than that I think hes one of the best skaters in the league.

you think hes actually been good? LOL!!

12th in the NHL in assists last year, 124th in the NHL in goals last year, 38th in the NHL in points, 219th in +/-.....

and a top 5 salary last season.

You think that is actually Good?!!

Hes been a good 2nd liner, perhaps, a great 3rd liner for sure. But for one of the 5 or 10 highest paid players in the league, hes been PUTRID.

Well Mr. GM, who else would you have put in his place from the UFA market from the past few years? I guarantee you most of the people ahead of him in assists were drafted by the teams they play for. If freaking Jeff Finger is getting 3mil, how can you not justify giving Gomez who is the face of the team 7mil?

He needs a winger who can keep up with him and actually bury pucks. Or at least defensemen who can join the rush properly, and then actually hit the net.

Now that's absurd man. You're mad cause we're losing. We forgive you.

I mean for gods sake Ryan Callahan is a great third liner, so how the hell could Gomez be a great third liner?

He is like slim sexy looking girl turning into fat ugly wife. May people told you not to marry her, she is far from super model they were saying, but you did it anyway... So... Try to be happy with here and blame your friends or whoever.

You people are all going to take my head off, but as far as I'm concerned,..

..trade for Sean Avery.

It's not the fix, but it's a start.

look at his numbers, they are 2nd line numbers. im saying hes a good 2nd liner, elite 3rd liner. i probalby shoul dhave phrased that better.

Regarding who i would have signed, ive been consistent since day 1.

I would have signed Nylander and Lang. Less money, Less years, prove success w/ Jagr, frees up cap space to take a serious run for a guy like Hossa this past offseason, or next off season with gabby and hossa, etc.

Because Avery is the sniper that we need to play with Gomez/Dubinsky?

That dosent solve the empty spots at center. Sure our wings would be stacked. And please do not say AA is a suitable 2nd line center.

because this is a team playing exactly like the team last season, and the season before, w/o Avery. With the exception that Henrik stole wins early on.

This team should never have let him walk.

Inferno man i really respect your opinion and i agree with your views of this team so far but how can you not mention Drury???

I am sick of him and have become more vocal about it in my posts, the guy is invisible, he is supposed to be this great leader who has won wherever he goes but here he is just ineffective.

I am done with Chris "Captain Clutch" Drury he isnt doing what he's paid for and thats lead this team, if he aint going to score the points he has to at least come up in the leadership role and even in that role he is no place

I'm mad about the contract too but his numbers are borderline 1st line/2nd line.

Plus, his numbers equate or better mostly everyone else on the team, so that's who we're stuck with, and that's our first liner. There's not much else you can do.

Then again it's not like every first liner in the league scores well upwards of 70 points a season...

i dont understand waht youre talking about?

We would have had Nylander, Lang, Cullen, and Betts down the middle, thats 4 very good centermen, and Dubinsky probably pushing Cullen to the wing.
