Quote:
Anderson went to the training room for treatment, but was back on the bench for the end of the game, with a white towel wrapped around his neck. DeBoer said Anderson will be back for a sixth consecutive start Monday.

''We have the luxury of having two starters here,'' DeBoer said.

``Andy had a great run, we had a great run as a team. Last time in Ottawa, Andy stood on his head to get a win. I think when you go on a run of five or six games . . . I want to treat him the same way I would treat Tomas. I would have gone back with Tomas; I'll do the same thing with Andy.''
Modest win streak ends
Florida Panthers winning streak ends in shutout loss to Boston Bruins
George Richards' Blog, Your Source For Reliable, Early Panthers Info!

No word if any forward will return. McArdle and Sprukts were returned to Rochester but may just come back up if needed.

Red Hot Cat Of The Night Jay Bouwmeester, with 7 points in 6 games, leads the team in points and assists.

Primary Target

Filip Kuba, the former Panther actually has more assists than the esteemed Bouwmeester. He is pictured here practicing for his eventual future role on the Senators attempting to "cross the Alfredsson". Kuba should not be confused with Cuba, a country he is not from. And even though he has a funny looking name, let it not deceive you, for he is also funny looking.

LET'S GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

Don't have a link to it, but the rumor is that Repik and Glass have been called up for this one.

Panthers are coming off a loss after a 3-game winning streak. If they lose this one, it would seem that the winning streak would mean very little. Therefore, I'm going with 5-3 sens in a tough loss. I am basing this prediction on historical circumstances that would suggest the Panthers enjoy going on winning streaks then follow it with a string of losses just as easily.

I want to be optimistic and think that we can continue this current streak, even with Saturdays loss, but we need to get some help defensively. From GRs story today:

Richard Zednik (elbow), Rostislav Olesz (groin) and Cory Stillman (concussion) could return to action on this four-game trip through Canada, but David Booth (shoulder) and Nathan Horton (ankle laceration) aren't expected back for a while.

Its fine and dandy that Olesz, Stillman, and Zednik will be back soon, but Id rather have Booth and Horton back soon, and the rest not back for a while. We need our scorers back. I wouldnt be surprised if this team made the playoffs by the way we are playing now, but its going to have to include those injured players. We need them back soon, or Martin has to seriously be working the phones.

Yeah according to this: http://panthersprowl.blogspot.com/

It looks like Repik makes his NHL debut tonight, excited to see that. And I'm glad to see Glass back, he brings some nice toughness and is more likely to be effective out there than Sprukts right now.

Panthers 2 Ottawa 1

Anderson cements his hold on the number one job and Vokoun and Bouw are traded after game for Spezza and Gerber.

Thats some good news. I'm excited to see him play tonight. I hope he gets more than 5 minutes of ice time though and sees some PP time.

Panthers 3-2, in overtime. Do we have any idea just how much longer Booth is going to be out? Haven't read an update in a while, and given Booth's importance to this team, I would think the media would have done a better job of keeping everyone informed.

Since this is the Florida Panthers, Booth will miss the whole season... Don't you know this by now?

You do realise that Gerber will be a UFA at the end of the season and then the Cats can cut him and his overpriced contract loose? He's in my proposed trade only for Cap purposes and someone has to back up Anderson the rest of this season.

So we lose an All-Star for nothing? And if Spezza's been accused of floating, why do we want him, again?

How is this an upgrade in any way? We need a goalie who can carry the team when Andy struggles.

I'm gad to see Glass get the call-up. Maybe we'll see Neil vs. Glass II.

I really want Spezza, he's a great player, floater or not. He did have a hat trick last game, granted one game doesn't mean much, but its something.

Yes I realize Gerber is an UFA. I feel more comfortable with Vokoun-Anderson, than Anderson-Gerber. What goalie do you plan on signing to back up Anderson if he decides to stay? Trading away Bo and Vokoun will set this team back.

That guy for one. An impending UFA who is having a bit of a breakout season yet has no future with his current team. Plenty of goalies who will work relatively cheap, 2mil or less, and be able to hold-up their end of a goalie tandem will be available in the off-season.

2-1 Panthers

With Anderson making 48 saves

This AHL team is not going to score more than 1 goal, 2 at best, tonight. So we need a big game from Anderson

But I'm scared that tonigh's match is going to be the start of a long tough period with all the injuries we have

I'm kinda thinking the same thing. We've held up longer than we should have with these injuries and now I'm expecting the bottom to drop out.

Random question.

Can anyone recall of a trade that went down between two teams the same day they are supposed to play each other? Just wondering how realistic a trade would be today. It would be so weird if JayBo was traded, then to see him the same day in a Sens uniform.
